R: If you had to pick the “World’s Best” for this topic, who would it be?
I: I think athletes have the values of personal goals ingrained into their psyche. That’s why they are athletes. If you can’t compete with yourself, then it is impossible to compete with others. Athletes are constantly setting personal goals just to better themselves. There will never be an athlete who is on top of their game that will stop trying. They’ll keep pushing themselves.
R: If you had to pick who’s the worst at this subject, who would it be?
I: People with New Year’s resolutions. Those resolutions are often unrealistic goals or goals made at the last minute which cannot be achieved due to the person’s attitude. If those goals were truly worth going after then the person would not wait until New Year’s to make it a goal. They would have done so beforehand.

R: When is a time you feel this topic needs to be set aside or not even considered?
I: Right after someone’s failure. At a time of failure, you don’t want to remind the person that they failed. You don’t want to remind them of what they set out to do and how they didn’t do it. You want to be nice and gentle. You want to be encouraging and remind them who they are and that the failure doesn’t change them.
R: Where can regular people like you and me plan to bring this into our daily routine?
I: The best environment for achieving personal goals to get good results is the realm of health and fitness. It is easy to pursue a health and fitness goal when it is concrete and personal. R: Give me an example of who you think should look into this subject more?
I: I believe it is important for everyone to know how to achieve personal goals. however this message is especially important for young children. More schools should teach kids how to set goals and then achieve them. This would produce a nation with more leaders and less followers.

I: Thou never know when you opportunity will knock. Preparation is key and when opportunity comes your way you better be prepared. The key to success is being properly prepared for that opportunistic moment in your life. You must capitalize because opportunity may not come back to you.
