Does your success depend on your personality type or makeup? What if you could get more out of every task you do, every relationship you have, and every effort you put into securing an awesome future for yourself and your loved ones? Surely this is the path to ultimate success and it starts with understanding yourself.
The characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies you have are all finer points of your overall personality and how you get the most out of your days. If you’re even only slightly unclear on how your personality affects your future, then you can surely benefit from growing here and learning from others.
I created a survey and polled several hundred people about personalities and how this interesting topic affects their lives. What follows is their raw, personal, and highly enlightening experiences, opinions, and feelings. I did clean up the language a bit where it was needed, but the survey results here are about as blunt as can be. I’m hoping they’ll help you see just how important personality is in your life.
Survey Question:
How could finding out more about your personality help you in creating a successful future?

- It might help with dealing with other people in the workplace. Should be a good indicator for what I like most and dislike in the workplace. I think maybe if I could understand all my own good traits, then maybe I could pass them along to others that i may associate with.
- Finding out more about my personality would help me in creating a successful future in a number of ways. First and foremost, being aware of my personality type’s strengths would aid me in accentuating those strengths. Being aware of the weaknesses in my personality type would be both very illuminating and would aid me in modifying my behavior to decrease the effect of those weaknesses on my success in the future. Finally, I believe that being more aware of the various aspects of my personality type would help me in finding other people whose personalities are either in line with mine, or whose personalities complement the various aspects of my personality.
- Knowing who you are helps you know your limitations. You can climb up as slow as you want but if you don’t know your limits you can climb too high and once you fall down people will remember that more than your climb. Anyone can say, well this is how I would handle that situation. But unless you really know about yourself you can’t really say how you would handle a situation until you’ve done it.So as you take risks you keep telling yourself that you can handle the consequences and keep going, even if you can’t. Then you risk it and lose and because you were wrong about yourself your success ends there when you could have waited and let yourself mature before continuing forward. You could still fail but that doesn’t mean you will fall.
- Finding out about my personality would help me creating a successful future because I could see what type of things I need to improve about myself. I would be able to work on my strengths and fix anything that needs to be fixed. I could help to plan out what is best and what will benefit me.

Creating less complex yet important paths and routes to a successful future in academics and my chosen profession would include me having the motivation and ability to improve certain aspects of myself. These aspects might be how I deal with people in different social situations, how I put my point across to others, or how I react to certain opinions/views. While you shouldn’t have to regulate yourself so much in those arenas, it’s good to know what personality type you are and who you naturally get along with.

Awesome insight into the importance of understanding your personality. Personally, I never started growing the way I wanted to until I started understanding my personality better.
I ended up working on my personality intensively, until I was getting entirely different, consistent results in my Jung personality tests.
I discovered that studying my personality seemed to give me a much better understanding on how I want to move forward. I did extensive research on how personalities develop, and my discovery was that your personality is basically a large group of habits which you acquire unknowingly through differing methods. I did not like the way I was living, and I wanted to live the type of life that would enable me move quicker towards my deeply felt goals and visions.
Consistently being unable to obtain the types of results I desired led me to the study of personality types.
Discovering that the basis of personality types was habits helped me chart a course for change. I studied how habits can be changed and started working on changing my habits in the direction I wanted my personality to go.
This suddenly made me have more energy and live deliberately every day. I had a plan to change my life, and I was working on it every single day.
After a number of months of consistently doing this, a whole swathe of my habits actually changed. I actually didn’t feel like acting the way I used to act anymore, and I actually wanted to keep working on myself and getting better. Previously, I almost entirely act based on the way I feel. On doing the Myers-Briggs test again (after a couple of years), I discovered I had actually changed from an INFP to an INTJ.
Also, from having a lot of dreams and hardly ever achieving any, I had started a successful business, plus put my previously troubled marriage in order.
I feel much more fulfilled now, and when I used to literally DRAG myself out of bed, now I JUMP out of the bed!
In my journey, I have discovered that our personality type is not directly under our control, but they really control our lives. Studying and discovering more about them, and getting to know how to have the power to work on them, lift us up into a whole new level of being in control in our lives, and charting the course of our lives ourselves, instead of basically stumbling through life, and wondering why we keep getting certain types of results again and again.
