To achieve one’s personal goals is something that everyone should strive for. There have been numerous studies that show that setting goals and writing them down is a great tool in obtaining these goals. Having the goals written down reminds you of them and gives you a drive to finish them. Knowing that you have a certain set of goals to achieve you make you strive to finish them.
Setting and achieving goals provides fulfillment. Make goals for yourself and set out to do them. Change into the person you want to be. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
It’s time to get down to the raw, honest, and real-deal nitty-gritty on this topic. I got with quite a few passionate people interested in sharing their ideas with you and this article is an interview-style approach to helping you regain control of your time.

[‘R’ is me (Richard N. Stephenson) and ‘I’ in the interviewee]
R: Explain why this topic is important to people like you and me.
I: It is important for us to achieve our personal goals because it aids us in growing as a well-balanced person. When we understand the importance of achieving goals, we can aid others in achieving their goals. We feel better about ourselves both personally and professionally when we are able to set and achieve our personal goals.
R: How could this subject help you or someone you know change your life for the better?
I: Allow for motivation towards more success, which leads to more personal value. Gaining more income to make one’s life more stable. Accomplishing goals is one of the best thing someone can do for their lives, because it allows them to be more productive, and have higher self-esteem.
R: Explain what about this subject could help people be just all around better.
I: Anyone who wants to be a better person already has at least one goal. Helping them achieve it would directly help them be a better person. But also, if a person knows how to set and achieve goals, their potential for self-improvement is limitless.
R: If you had to pick the “World’s Best” for this topic, who would it be?
I: I think athletes have the values of personal goals ingrained into their psyche. That’s why they are athletes. If you can’t compete with yourself, then it is impossible to compete with others. Athletes are constantly setting personal goals just to better themselves. There will never be an athlete who is on top of their game that will stop trying. They’ll keep pushing themselves.
R: If you had to pick who’s the worst at this subject, who would it be?
I: People with New YearâÂ?Â?s resolutions. Those resolutions are often unrealistic goals or goals made at the last minute which cannot be achieved due to the person’s attitude. If those goals were truly worth going after then the person would not wait until New YearâÂ?Â?s to make it a goal. They would have done so beforehand.
R: Give us an example of what you do to make this topic a part of your daily duties.
I: They should do a Google search on achieving personal goals. There are many websites, such as about.com which would be helpful. They can also find a successful person that is willing to mentor them or at least answer some questions regarding this topic.
R: Can you let us know when you think a good time to pay attention to this subject is?
I: Bring up achieving person goals should be brought up when someone is going to give up. Until they give up there is still a chance of success. Reminding them to keep trying can be all the motiviation they need.
R: When is a time you feel this topic needs to be set aside or not even considered?
I: Right after someone’s failure. At a time of failure, you don’t want to remind the person that they failed. You don’t want to remind them of what they set out to do and how they didn’t do it. You want to be nice and gentle. You want to be encouraging and remind them who they are and that the failure doesn’t change them.
R: Where can regular people like you and me plan to bring this into our daily routine?
I: The best environment for achieving personal goals to get good results is the realm of health and fitness. It is easy to pursue a health and fitness goal when it is concrete and personal. For example, attempting to lose weight is easier when you pick a target weight as a personal goal, and attempt to achieve that goal.
R: Where is a really bad place to start working on this topic?
I: When someone is trying to gain money through illegal activity. When someone is trying to have an affair with a married person. When you are a parent of a child who isn’t into playing baseball and you are continually pushing them to play.
R: Give me an example of who you think should look into this subject more?
I: I believe it is important for everyone to know how to achieve personal goals. however this message is especially important for young children. More schools should teach kids how to set goals and then achieve them. This would produce a nation with more leaders and less followers.
R: What special tricks, tactics, or strategies could you recommend for us today?
I: Thou never know when you opportunity will knock. Preparation is key and when opportunity comes your way you better be prepared. The key to success is being properly prepared for that opportunistic moment in your life. You must capitalize because opportunity may not come back to you.
R: Give me an idea of something people should avoid in learning more about this topic.
I: Avoid doubting yourself. You will find that your goals can be achieved. There is no reason to underestimate what you are capable of.
R: Given any tool available, what would you recommend folks do make this subject a bigger part of their lives?
I: Right now you can take out a piece of paper and write down your goals. Then write down anything that is stopping you from achieving them. Don’t think of these as barriers but as part of the project of achieving your goal.
