You can only squeeze so much juice out of an orange. Once you’ve given it a good wringing, all that’s left if bitter and cold to the touch. This is exactly what happens when the workforce is worked beyond reasonable human-tolerable levels. We are not robots, we are not automotons, we are not just another set of creations to churn out widgets for the commercial powers that be.
Humans needs time to recover. We all need time to get some of our energy back before we can dive right back into the fray and start producing some good quality work again. The exact same can happen when we don’t have any path to advancement in front of us. Over-working the heck out of the people around you and then dashing their hopes for doing it for the good of personal advancement… well, that’s a common cause for disaster.
Thousands of test takers were asked a little bit about themselves before diving into the strengths test. Part of this is to help center their minds around the reason they are taking the test, but also to get them to get into the deep-contemplation mode before diving into the questions. Here’s what they were asked:

- The most frustrating thing about a job is not getting clear directions on how to do things
- I am not a full time employee. I don’t get the same benefits add them and I feel I do more work.
- I’m a student. But the only things that were frustrating when I did work was the structures of the businesses that didn’t allow ideas.
- Doing nothing and waiting to be told what to do
- I do not have a current job but when things aren’t explained properly
- Lack of management, training , procedures and continuity.

- Supervisor and her bosses all tell me what a great job I do, and how important I am to carry out the agenda, but they will not offer me a permanent position – not even part-time.

- I do not think my strengths are being utilized.

- The pressure and financial stress
- People who don’t do equal amounts of work
- If if will survive in my business. Times are really hard and a lot of obstacles show up unexpectedly. I live in Greece and business is really difficult, because we do not compete with the same terms as in other countries. People and fellow businessmen are totally untrained, demanding with no reason and bad, really bad payers. I Keep evolving by acquiring new knowledge, certification after certification, involvement after involvement, but right now just feels like I’m wasting my energy.
- The most frustrating thing at my new job is dealing with customers who are constantly rude and disrespectful. It’s not an easy job so to see people disrespect me upsets me but I try my best to keep my cool.

- I don’t have a job yet because I’m still pursuing my education. However I still get frustrated in my life and one of the biggest frustrations in my life is my future career. Whether I would love to do what I do.
- Communicating with supervisors is the most frustrating thing in my current job. Although I am not a native-speaker, I always try my best to explain what I want to say. However, sometimes, I do not know How I can explain more perfectly to avoid misunderstanding.

I tried to understand how people differently prioritize their life but if just cant stand when they let me and my another friend work OUR group project almost by myself even. We are sitting together. He just play game and ignore any if my request to do work.

- I work in content marketing. I’m viewed as a dependable contributor, so a lot of the work comes to me. However, I’m spread so thin that I don’t feel I’m developing professionally. I feel more like a gopher!
- I lack the authority to do my job. No one respects me as their manager. Even though I have proven countless I can do their job they don’t believe that I can do it at all. I have no authority to reprimand anyone, so what I say is pointless. I get blamed for just about anything that has to do with my store even if it was not my job. The other person in my position does not have the same problems as I do. Some says I believe their is slot of favoritism with my gm.
