If you were dropped in the middle of an ocean, with no land in sight, and were asked to get back home, then would you know where to begin your journey? Without the right tools, adequate knowledge, and the right direction from those who know, then the trip back to where you need to be can be a sea of confusion and frightful challenge.
We need direction to grow. We need help to get to the next level. We need some kind of feedback to know whether or not what we are doing is worthwhile and inline with the company’s expectations. With a clear path laid out before you, you have a much better understanding of where you need to go. There are many people that seek direction out there.
Thousands of test takers were asked a little bit about themselves before diving into the strengths test. Part of this is to help center their minds around the reason they are taking the test, but also to get them to get into the deep-contemplation mode before diving into the questions. Here’s what they were asked:

- I don’t currently have a job. However, I feel the most frustrating thing about my current situation is working with people who don’t have the same drive and aren’t willing to equally contribute to get the work done.

- I don’t agree with the course materials that are being used. I think the teaching methods praised by the director of studies are outdated. I don’t like split shifts. I don’t like last-minute schedule changes.

- The most frustrating thing about my current job is that I don’t have one.

- There is no team spirit. People don’t want to work for better or to learn more. They are just employed because they have to work and get money at the end of the month. The only fun they have is gossiping about others and pulling somebody down.
