Are you one of the lucky few that has enough room to grow and operate at your workplace? If so, then no doubt you’ve run across a time or two when you had some serious risks to consider before going too far along in your project. I can almost guarantee that this exact scenario has stopped you from achieving some awesome things in your work and life, too.
The fear of failure can cleave a huge chasm between what we want to get done and what we actually do. That success we dream of can quickly be ripped out of our imagination by letting the fear of failure dive right into the equation. Sure, risk needs to be considered, but it shouldn’t stop us in our tracks. Is your workplace the kind that allows you to grow? There are many who suffer…
Thousands of test takers were asked a little bit about themselves before diving into the strengths test. Part of this is to help center their minds around the reason they are taking the test, but also to get them to get into the deep-contemplation mode before diving into the questions. Here’s what they were asked:
Describe what you feel is the most frustrating thing about your current job.
Why Understand People’s Frustrations?
It isn’t until we begin to understand what makes our daily life harder that we begin to understand what we need to change in our life, work, or relationships. By getting a better understanding of what make life more challenging, I can begin to help folks with the problems that matter most to them.
I am seeking understanding, ideas, and focused attention on making valuable change in the world. Can you see some use from this information, too?
List of Workplace Frustrations – Part 6 of 10
- Gaining consensus to be able to move forward and get something done.
- Management Skills
- The fact that I may lose balance of my projects and all the current tasks I may have to do.
- Doing administrative work, feeling like others expect me to do the administrative work
- People judge you harshly.
- There is no direction, no goals and nobody knows who is doing what
- The most frustrating thing is trying to past aptitude test and the waiting for an answer
- I cannot trust my supervisor to properly teach me the skills I need in order to be truly successful at my job. In my eyes, a good (even great) teacher is one who is not afraid of others that are better, or have potential to become better, than they are. A great teacher/leader/mentor supports their student in becoming all they can be, even if it means the student surpasses the teacher. A poor teacher will try and keep his/her student down, and will not allow them to flourish for fear that the student may be better. This usually results from a lack of self-esteem on the teacher’s part.
- Some people got treated better than others.
- I am not frustrated on my current job. I do get frustration when I can not finish on time line
- What my strength is and how to focus
- I have a fear of failing while doing each work
- Management’s indecisiveness
- Missing teamwork
- I don’t like it, it just for make money and pay my bills and my studies.
- If I can’t be the best or at least good at what I’m doing, then I don’t want to do it at all, really, and I’m not nearly the best or quite that good at what I’m doing.
- Self centered people who don’t bend are one of the greatest obstacles to success.
- Not enough power, physical labor.
- I am the new person so everyone takes advantage of me by making me do all the hard jobs.
- I believe what is most frustrating is that sometimes I can be too hard on myself. I always set high expectations, and when I feel I do not uphold those expectations, I become disappointed.
- The right career path
- My life is not in my control. I am left to others pity.
- I’m doing my undergrad at the moment. Nothing really frustrates me at the moment, but I am concerned about my future career. While I think we can survive given the right attitude and with a little bit of luck, I feel I’m still at my crossroads, and that uncertainty is a bit upsetting but it is also exciting at the same time.
- Lack of confidence. I know I need to fake it till I make it but I like to be confident because I am sure.
- Some of the people I work with frustrate me because they do not show good work ethics like showing up on time or respecting their bosses.
- THAT I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WANT AND if HAVE TO FIGURE IT OUT. SO I GET ANNOYED THAT I DON’T KNOW. ASLO THAT IT IS HARD TO CHOOSE. FREAR IS ANNOYING.
- Under staffed, money concerns always due to healthcare changes, too much paperwork
- The most frustrating thing about my current job is when someone expects less of me.
- What should if study in uni?
- My current job is school and it’s frustrating because grades are apparently more important than health??
- What are my weaknesses?
- People who are negative and they keep them self and others demotivated
- I am a student of PGDM currently.
- Dealing with goals
- Dealing with people
- Insignificance and lack of trust
- Abuse of power and incompetence of management, colleagues low in morale.
- Having some sort of doubtful regarding my own personal strength
- Is design the career choice I should follow?
- Too much paper works need to be done, alone. Those works are seem not necessary at all.
- Most frustrating thing about my job is the weather!

- Sitting idle with all the negative thoughts coming in my mind
- How can I be more strategic in my planning and know that I am making the right moves and decisions?
- Not knowing enough
- Not having complete control of the information needed for my tasks
- What is talent in life?
- What am if supposed to do? Shall I pursue this career as a small business owner, or get a regular job?
- It’s frustrating when I don’t feel challenged enough to grow and develop personally and professionally.
- Waking up every morning at 6 a.m.
- Management doesn’t allow you to be yourself. The person God created me to be. I give 110% and have never had a problem with management because I wasn’t myself. I went against the grain and changed my personality to suit their expectation of what they thought I should be. And the sad thing about it was that I allowed them to crush my God given spirit and I’m miserable. If you can’t be who God created you to be you begin to internalize negative and hard feeling, My first 10 years there were wonderful and the next 5 years I was staying for the paycheck
- No real direction or goals for the organization.
- I’m a student, at the moment and the most frustrating part is most likely the feeling of in satisfaction I have deep inside. This is because I’m trying to study, a lot of the time I do, and I won’t lie when I sag that I strive to be the best but things just aren’t working out for me.

- The culture and the leadership style
- Will I be an Idol for future generations
- I do not currently have a job and I want one but I just got rejected and I want to learn my strengths and weaknesses to do better in interviews and hopefully get a job.
- Lack of team work. Lack of good leadership.
- I do not have a job, but if am in school and there is this guy who is one year older than me and if know for a fact that he used to like me, and when if first got to find out ( from a friend) if was disgusted, but when if got to know him, if liked him a lot. But if am not so sure now, so every time if see him if think if he likes me or not. And my best friend thinks that she is the third wheel, and we already made up but if can tell that something changed, she just doesn’t seem to trust me as much, and if really do not understand.
- What type of career would suit me?
- The most frustrating thing about my current job is that the company hired to many people during the holiday season, and did not cut any of them after Christmas. My promised 20 hours a week when I was hired has now turned into 5-10 hours a week. All employees are only given one shift a week.
- The main problem that I have with my current job is that I am not compensated comparably with my peers, and that I am looked down upon because I do not have the same financial success as they do within their occupations.
- The fact that I can not create a family environment at my work place, also that I can not help others like a I new I can, or like the company can. Or maybe the fact that the company doesn’t care about the community.
