Focus is a thing that can either make or break your career advancement and development. Do you go down the exact same path of those before you, knowing full well they didn’t end up where you want to be? Do you instead clear a new path for yourself, testing uncharted waters and hoping for the best for you and yours?
We need a clear path, we need a determined level of concern and appreciation from those that control the work environment. We need some of the authority figures to blow away the clouds and make the future make more sense so we can see where the heck we’re going! This is a problem that exists in the lives of more people than you think.
Thousands of test takers were asked a little bit about themselves before diving into the strengths test. Part of this is to help center their minds around the reason they are taking the test, but also to get them to get into the deep-contemplation mode before diving into the questions. Here’s what they were asked:

- I do not know what is expected of me in the role I am in.
- That if cannot gain employment. due to my experience and having had no job in the past.
- Boring. always the same.
- With my past being a combat veteran, will I ever find what is missing from my soul?
- There’s not enough challenge – tasks are repetitive and boring.
- What should I be doing for a living?
- Mostly the lack of enthusiasm of those around me.

- Listen to people tell me how to do something when they have no idea how to do it an if have to obey what there telling me and busy work drives me nuts, my mind does not work well when if have to do little things .
- No appreciation from my seniors.
- Having people in power that does not appreciate the responsibility that comes with it.
- I am afraid and it is difficult to find the motivation. I am revising my resume and changing careers.

- My boss treats me like a second citizen
- As of now I’m not sure where I’m heading in my career with my current profile….not sure what’s next or way forward and what will my career path be.

- I don’t have one, but the last one that I had was with a family member. I didn’t feel like there was anywhere to grow with the business.

- I quit a great paying job last week, I also enjoyed the work. I quit it because my co-workers where mean and rude. I like my current Job, I just wish it was full time.

- I don’t have a job at the moment, I am going to college. The most frustrating thing about college is trying to balance it with my children and home. When I was working, the most frustrating thing was having to deal with the rude customers.
- I do not like it when people say its to hard or if don’t want to try things that are new or challenging. I also don’t like people who are always late
- The fact that I am part time and get treated like my goals and work gets looked at differently
- I feel overwhelmed and stressed and feel like I do not measure up with my colleagues. I feel that my mistakes or weaknesses overshadow any good I do. I feel inadequate and question if I am in the right profession.

- Not knowing when I’m needed in advance so if can’t make any plans while being isolated
- The most frustrating thing is the lack of involvement with the public and other outside agencies. How is has become a ‘ if your face fits’ culture rather than ability and experiences.

- Lack of communication, and opportunity.
- Am I meant to stay in education, I feel like most of my superiors are inferior to me and definitely know less than I do what is wrong?
- Dealing with lowly trained people who are in charge of something like rostering..
- In my current job I have no frustrations, I’m very comfortable in my job.
- I have two jobs working with youth plus I play and teach music. Most frustrating thing would be everyone’s attitude, including my own. Everyone is super grumpy and we all get even more grumpy because nothing is improving. And the kids are really mouthy and disrespectful. I would say that poor and inconsistent communication is a close runner-up. No one tells anyone anything! So then instead of everyone being on the same page and enforcing the same rules, everyone is taking matters into their own hands, confusing the kids and ourselves.

- The most frustrating thing about my current job is the lack of communication. The other employees stand around and do nothing, while if seem to be running around everywhere.

- The most frustrating part of my job is having too much work and not enough time to do it.
- What career would be perfect to me?
- I hate having to deal with people who shouldn’t be in the role they have been given just because they bothered putting their hand up and have no qualifications… or have them and are just being stupid, and I hate the lack of communication abilities from staff members, colleagues and customers. They are all so stupid.
- I am not motivated to do my best.
- Inefficiency. I feel a lot of time is spent completing unimportant tasks.
