Comfort at home comes from several things. Familiarity is the most important thing. People are more comfortable in their own home because there are no surprises or unexpected things.
Creating a comfortable home promotes a sense of pride. By maintaining a house that is clean, organized, and visually appealing it reflects how you feel about yourself- lending to a positive self image. It also allows for relaxation and decompression after a long day at work. When you feel good about your home, you’ll be more apt to invite other people over instead of sitting around lonely.
This is a topic that is near and dear to the hearts of my readers, researchers, and website visitors. So much so that one of them were kind enough to share their own personal opinions. I don’t claim to be the best interviewer in the world, but I do promise some good, raw, and honest answers from normal people like you and me. I do my best to NOT filter these answers, except for the bad words and hateful speech.
With that little blurb out of the way, let’s dive right into the juicy bits of (potentially) life-changing insights.
Current Topic: Comfort At Home
‘R’ = Richard N. Stephenson (me!)
‘I’ = Interviewee (anonymous by request unless otherwise noted)
R: What’s so special about this topic anyway?
I: Stress is not good for one’s health. Finding comfort at home means that you are at peace with the world even if things are not going your way. Stressing over issues instead of getting solutions means that the task is getting insurmountable because of one’s attitude. Getting at peace with oneself means that there is the confidence to getting a task accomplished in spite of the stresses.
R: How could this subject help you or someone you know change your life for the better?
I: Being comfortable in one’s home can lead to a feeling of security, stability, and peace. These types of feelings help to make a person happier with themselves and inner happiness makes people more productive and successful. Having a positive home environment can lead to a more positive attitude which benefits a person in their personal and professional relationships.
R: How do you think this could be used for personal development or just being a better person overall?
I: “Comfort at home” could mean a person is relaxed and easy in the home environment. This can make a person feel they have a soft place to fall when they come back from a hard day. It can enforce a relaxed attitude knowing that this is the end result.
R: If you had to pick the “World’s Best” for this topic, who would it be?
I: A person who is best at comfort at home is someone who is comfortable alone, or does not have a fear of missing out. These characteristics mean that the person will enjoy their time at home, and will be therefore more comfortable at home. Additionally, someone who has a nice home, with entertainment options like TV or DVDs, and food and other creatures comforts will be best at comfort at home because their home is more comfortable than others.
R: Describe who least exemplifies the core meaning of this topic to you.
I: There are a lot of people who don’t seem to be comfortable at home. The worst person at this is the one who must always be surrounded by friends. He/she isn’t comfortable with their own company.
R: Describe the “perfect day” as far as making this subject a part of your life.
I: To start we clean up after ourselves clean and tidy equals comfort. We change into comfy clothes as soon as we get home.We tend to leave work and work stress at work. To us calmness is comfort.
R: Is there a specific time when this topic is best worked, used, or made apparent?
I: An appropriate part of making comfort at home is at retirement. Most people, however are not able to retire because of the economy. Therefore, comfort at home could be made as a hobby or a craft once the work day is over.
R: Tell me about an inapparopriate time to bring up this topic or use it in life?
I: A person who is out of control in their personal life may be trying to get support for that lifestyle. This would not be a good time to provide ‘comfort at home’. It can make it seem acceptable for this person to be staying comfortable while acting inappropriately.
R: Give us an example of a good place to bring this subject into daily life.
I: There is no place like home. Therefore, the home is the optical place for comfort at home. It is difficult to make comfort in a public place such as a library or a book store no matter how quiet it is.
R: Tell us about the worst place to make this subject part of our lives.
I: The worst place to make comfort at home an active part of your daily life is an area where you need to get work done. If, for example, you do homework at a desk, you are likely to fall asleep and/or be distracted if the area is too comfortable. I also think a couch should not be too comfortable, because if you fall asleep on a couch, you will have trouble sleeping at night. In addition, you will equate the couch with sleep, which isn’t always a good association.
R: In your opinion, who out there could use a little more help with this subject?
I: Our USA soldiers and their families could use help with comfort. People who have had a disaster happen to their home. Those who have lost a loved one to murder.
R: Can you give us any hints or tips for working this topic into our lives?
I: Decorate your home/room. You will be living there so obviously you want to make it feel as home as possible. I threw on some posters and my human scent which reminds me a lot like my old room at MOMS house. Add things you like doing to kill time too so your not staring at your room or being idle. That’s really the only way to feel as comfy as possible. Music in the background is encouraged; specifically ones you love listening to.
R: Please, let us know what you think is the biggest problem related to this topic?
I: Avoid putting pictures of your ex’s on the wall or anywhere. That’s negative energy and will only hold you back. Also don’t be disorganized because you will forget what goes where and end up confusing yourself. I ended up finding almost 10 dollars under my bed not knowing how it got there or where it came from.
R: Given any tool available, what would you recommend folks do make this subject a bigger part of their lives?
I: People can work from home or online schooling. It’s amazing to be able to work and spend time at home. I try working on my job as much as possible at home, since I do not have the option to take my work home.
