What Makes You Special, Unique, And Talented?

Let’s see. What makes you special, unique, and talented? I’ve given this a lot of thought, and I have pages and pages of notes on it, and unfortunately, all that is just way too much for the purpose of this exercise. Everyone should be able to just straight up say, three to five short little statements on what makes them so special and talented. Now granted if you haven’t really thought about it and wrote it down, it’s going to be tough to say off the cuff.

So, to boil down all the stuff that I’ve come up with, I’d probably say it’s my complete, utter desire to learn more, to experiment, try new things, solve problems that add value to the world. I just have this deep-seated desire to help people and to use my ability to take the loads and loads of information that’s out there, refine, distill, and filter out what’s important and useful and relevant. That seems to be what I’m good at.

A history of all things technical, whether it’s computers, web pages, programming, electrical engineering, and entrepreneurial adventures. It all pretty much boils down to, just jumping right in, taking the data that’s available, making some sense of it, and then making it useful for the world. It’s taking the ingredients that are available in the kitchen and making a tasty dessert out of it. Something that somebody wants to eat. That’s pretty much what I do. I make intellectual cake. Yeah, that’s it.

So what do you do? What’s your special talent, your unique awesomeness that makes you the special snowflake that you are? We are unique, we all do have wonderful talents, and we all do have a purpose here, on this planet. It’s just a matter of figuring it out, doing what you got to do, living your passion and purpose and doing something with it.
