Based on all of my choices, music choices on the tasks that I’m doing and basically the main areas of the brain that I’m using at the time to try to make it all meld together and to drown out that voice that says I don’t want to do this I wanna go on the couch and play video games. Because that voice is loud sometimes.
But basically if I’m doing anything that requires the communication the speech or the writing center of my brain then it’s going to be music that is soft maybe a little upper beat but relatively slow-paced, no vocals whatsoever so this usually involves…
I have Pandora stations and if you type these terms you’ll probably get it too…classical and classical gas, classical is the one I use for writing cause it’s songs that mostly I’ve never heard, don’t have any vocals, are usually pretty low key and kinda just occupy the background space.
Classical gas is like silly classical, maybe more popular songs, even some contemporary songs just with no vocals just all instruments and that’s pretty neat for editing and still doing writing things but no vocals to keep me focused and critical for mundane monotonous data entry web page programming that kind of stuff I usually either do not really dubstep, not really techno somewhere in between that maybe a mixture of just that driving continual beat maybe with some vocal or sometimes a R and B rappy upbeat yea let’s get this done kinda music keep you going, drown out anything thoughts that make you realize just how boring whatever your doing really is.
Then I have lounge or acid jazz that cool mellow funky music for the winding down maybe doing emails doing the casual writing or the casual interaction on the web just doing that social stuff.
So those are the four or five main styles of music that I have associated with the different tasks I use to stay busy and focused and you can get down to the nitty gritty and think about how each one aligns with the thought process that you have going on and see how that works best out for you or you can copy what I have here and tweak as you go along.
Pandora’s great because you can usually just kinda type in the music you’re looking for and after a couple thumbs down, thumbs up you’ll get to where you need to be and then’s it’s just a matter of saying hey i’m doing this task boom that station, that’s it, just a little secret ninja tip to help you stay motivated stay focused get you’re music right and get your head on tight, or something. Okay, bye.
