How To Make Exercise Fun With Video Games

Well here’s a little story about how to make exercise quite a bit more fun actually. I’m not a gigantic fan of video games just cause most of the time it’s taking up time you could be doing more useful things, but I do think you should have some fun time in your life. However, you also need a little bit of health and exercise in your life too. Well wouldn’t it be nice if you could combine the two? I sure as heck think so!

I have this lovely elliptical machine called the gazelle. You probably seen the infomercial. It’s pretty ridiculous, but I like it. It’s low impact. It does a decent job on at least the lower half of the body, and lower back and stuff. Thats where-a little and quite a bit of cardio if you do it a good enough time. Well what I’ve come to find out is that I can play my lowly old playstation 3 and the wireless controller with headphones on, while I’m gazelling, and we’re talking you know about 45 minutes to 50 minutes at a time.

That’s really all there is to it. You put in your favorite game, hopefully one that’s not TOO detailed. Doesn’t require too much moving around, but it is-and keep a clock there so you stay on point or set a timer. And boy you just have at it. You can do the stationary bike or some type of other stair machine or elliptical machine something to where you can do-do it for a good chunk of time you know, 30 minutes, 45 minutes. And man that time flew by so fast, and I’ve done it a couple times now and I really enjoy it.

The only thing you have to watch out for is that uh you stop playing when you’re done. I know uh, once or twice I just went ahead and..for cool down time sat there and played for a little bit longer and a little bit longer turned into a couple hours and uhh! Mass Effect 3 man! That game’s crazy! Gotta stop it, gotta stop it! but anyway see how you can combine something that you really enjoy doing, even video games with your exercise and then you have motivation to keep on sweating and you know. That’s what you need! That’s it, peace out!
