No matter how new your tires are, or how good or bad of a day you’re having, every once in a while you’re just going to get that stupid errant piece of metal, or screw, or nail, or something stuck in your tire and it’s really going to, well maybe not ruin your day but cause a bit of a problem. I hate to sit in those lobbies for hours at a time. I haven’t done it for years. As a matter of fact, as soon as you buy, I don’t think you even have a tire but as soon as you buy a tire from some of the major chains like Discount Tire and what not…

…don’t ever go to National Tire and Battery. I don’t like those guys. At least not the local one. Rude! Banned me for life for asking questions about quality of work. Whatever! But anyway, once you’ve bought the tire, or you are in their system you are treated pretty much as a customer. And they’re really good about their customers especially Discount Tire.
I’m pretty sure it’s their policy to fix, fixable tires for free. And that’s all of the ones that have damage on the actual middle of the tread, not too close to the side wall. Most people bring their cars in, wait for a day, and then let them do their work, and several hours later they finally get to leave with a brand new tire. You like that kind of thing go for it.
What I’ve always done is at home, you take the tire off, put the spare on. I mean it takes 5 minutes. Throw it in the trunk, go do whatever I was going to do that day, but as I pass a Discount Tire go in there. Drop off the tire and say “Hey I need this fixed. I’ll come back whenever it’s done sometime before the end of the day.” and that’s it!
They’ll call back sometime before they close, and that just about lines up with whenever I’m heading back that way. Pick up my tire. Put it on when I get home. BADDA BING BADDA BOOM! Minimum Interference. Free, Fast, and Easy. Don’t ever waste your time in those lobbies anymore. There you go, You’re welcome!
