So, what if we could get our kids to do whatever we want with two simple choices? Easy, huh? Universal solution, sounds too good to be true, right? It really is. It’s so totally simple and the instant I stumbled across this and tried it a couple of times and it’s completely obvious. You’ll know it when I say it but I was just amazed at how well it works.

If you go up to your kid and you say, pick up these toys right now, you’re probably going to get a bunch of junk right back at you depending on how you have your house structured, set up. But, if you instead offer them two choices to where they seem like they’re in control, you are now giving them two choices that you’re okay with and allowing them to make the decision. Sure, it’s a little bit more thinking on your part but it’s a world of difference.
So, if I’m at the playground and it’s time to go, and I say instead of let’s go now I say it’s time to go. Would you like to leave now or in five minutes? Of course they’re always going to pick five minutes or maybe you could say three minutes and seven minutes. It doesn’t really matter. You’ve now completely diffused the situation and have figured out how to get what you want and allow them to have what they want too.
It’s beautiful. You need to try it. So, the next time you want to get your kids to do whatever you want, within reason, c’mon, you’re a good parent, simply give them two choices that you’re okay with. That’s it, piece of cake. So, if you’d like to share this with other people or just simply subscribe and like it, either one of those would be just fine. Have a good one!
