Interviewee Responses
01) Describe (in your own words) what you think ‘teamwork’ means.
I think teamwork means being able to cooperate with other people to complete a required task. It is like you are a piece of a puzzle that has a role to play that requires you to fit just right for the whole machine to work.
02) Think about a person you feel needs team-building training. How do you think this training would help him/her?
It would help him stop being so controlling and so demanding. It would also help him stop being so damn condescending and accept that he does not know it all and his expectations for other are way too misguided. He could learn that just because he is a certain way it does not mean that everybody is like that.
03) How do you think teamwork could help a company or business?
It would help a company save on resources and also help the company employees be more efficient and productive by teaching them how to work together to accomplish tasks faster and with better results.
04) Describe a teamwork / team-building exercise or event you’ve been through at your work, school, or during training.
We once had to build a bridge in pairs. one person had to read the instructions and dictate them to the other person, who was the builder. The person reading the instruction couldn’t look at the bridge while i was building it and i couldn’t look at the images on the instruction manual that show how to build it.
05) Explain at least 1 thing you’ve learned from a team-building exercise and how it has helped you.
i learned that i can depend on others to help me when i need them to. I don’t always have to do every single thing by myself when i could just as easily ask somebody to lend me a hand when i need it
06) Think back to a team-building exercise you did NOT enjoy. What do you feel could have been improved and why?
I think that i enjoyed all of the team building exercises that i too part in because the instructors made them fun and very interesting.
07) Describe what you like most about team-building efforts and training.
I like team building efforts and training because i like learning new things and new ways of doing things. The training is also usual interesting and fun to take part in.
08) What are a few things you like least about team-building efforts and why?
I would like the choice to attend or not. sometimes the team building training seminars take away from more important stuff i could be doing with my time.
09) When learning about team-building, would you rather read about it, listen to a trainer, watch training videos, or physically participate in an event? Describe why you feel that way.
I would like to physically participate in the events because i am more of a hands on person. I think the best way to learn anything is to do it and that is exactly what taking part in physically in team building exercises lets you do.
10) Pretend you are asked to give a quick team-building presentation at work. What are your first couple of steps to get prepared?
I would probably asks around for anybody who would be willing to participate in a few demonstrations with me.Then i would make a power-point presentation of the important tasks and skill needed to be a better team player
11) In your opinion, what type or personality of person do you think could benefit most from team-building efforts?
A know it all, controlling individual who is always on everybody’s case about how something should be done.
