Loving God is living a life that He would approve of. To me, it’s not a complicated concept, although some people would probably make it that way. When I read the Bible there are themes that come up over and over again; an example being to treat your neighbor as you would want to be treated. That’s what it means to love God. It means taking what He says very seriously; to live as if He is inside you.
Just the other day I was talking to someone about God and I said, “If God is really living in me, then what sense does it make for me to be angry?” Clearly, it doesn’t. Just do what He wants you to do, and do it the best he can. If you make a mistake, just try again…he is always ready to forgive as long as we love Him.
Using the concept of really loving God is something I try to do, meaning almost anyone can. It means that when someone cuts in front of you in a line, or someone makes a rude remark that would otherwise frustrate you, you simply remember that you can’t get mad at such a person if you really love God.
When you stop getting annoyed at the frustrations of this life, and there are hundreds of them, you realize that there are very few things WORTH getting upset at. You sidestep the frustrations, as God would want since He’s a loving God. As you walk past the problems instead of getting bogged down in them, you become a happier person. I know this to be true since I used to be quite frustrated by life.
