Realization Station
After reading a few of Robert T. Kiyosaki’s books, like “Rich Dad / Poor Dad” and “Guide to Investing”, I sat back, put my hand to my chin, and thought,
“Hmmmmm… why am I so dull when it comes to knowing about finances? I mean, I friggin’ work on hardware used by astronauts in space, for goodness sakes… why have I convinced myself that money numbers are too hard for me?”
…shortly arriving at the following conclusion:
“How can I afford NOT to look into this field more?”
A Bad Review, A Good Trail
As I searched around for the latest and greatest investing books out there, I stumbled across the only 2 star review on a fancy looking book over at Amazon. The reviewer was a bit harsh, but overall pretty fair and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the subject. SOOOO, I decided to ask what he thought a newb, like myself, should do in order to break into this brand-spanking new arena of financial awesomesauce.
I tell you what he proceeded to lay down two lists of some of the fanciest looking books I’ve never heard of before and I tell you I couldn’t have been more thankful. It seemed to be a popular question to answer, that newbie probe of mine, as I received a few more suggestions along the way.
After I left my thanks and regards, I proceeded to do some more research with these new nuggets of monetary literacy.
It Takes WORDS to Make Money
…and off I go through the reviews at Amazon and Goodreads. Sifting, culling, analyzing, applying nifty (but arbitrary) filtering algorithms to my choices… all to narrow down the list of 70 odd books to something a bit more manageable.
TADA! It has been done! A list of 27 potentially financially extraordinary learning tools for you to work off of. I’ve split them up into 3 main sections as some form of guidance (and to [hopefully] cut back on some of the feelings of overwhelming waves of potential knowledge that you may be experiencing!) :)
Start at the “Musts”, work through the “Considers”, and sift around the “Extras”. You’ll need more than one point of view to get a good picture of this financial / investing arena. Get crakin’!
