Life... uh... what is it good for? Gotta find the purpose!
I recently ran across a small blurb touting an exercise to help one “DISCOVER YOUR LIFE PURPOSE!” so I was like, “Hey, why not… I’ve got the rest of my life to live… why wait any longer?”
It’s pretty straight forward… here are some basic steps.
STEPS TO DETERMINE YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE (MAYBE):
- Relax, calm down, and get in an environment that makes ya’ feel all right
- Grab a blank piece of paper (or 3) and a pencil (or a computer if you like)
- Write “How would I describe my LIFE PURPOSE?” on the top
- Begin to answer that question in as many ways as possible
- Try to turn over the writing to your subconscious mind (don’t let the “this sucks!” voice chime in)
- Do this for 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes. When you find yourself “out of steam”, go for 5 more minutes.
- Go for 5 more minutes.
- Read back over and pick the top 5 that make you get all emotional and stuff
- Those top 5 have a hint or two for you… figure it out!
I didn’t go for very long, but here’s a short list I came up with doing this type of exercise (I did some Excel-ing to them for formatting purposes… I didn’t brainstorm in alphabetical order, lol):
- answering questions to life’s problems
- benefiting all for the sake of the world
- bringing knowledge into the hearts of the hungry
- bringing people back to the garden
- bringing some good value to your life
- building better foundations for buildings to come
- creating direction for the path of life
- distilling information into the education we need to survive, thrive, and protect
- doing it all for mankind
- educating, not protecting… making experimenting and learning easier
- education, thinking, learning – all for the future
- family when you really need it
- future generations depend on the input of today
- giving the ah-ha moments
- GPS for your soul, life, and future
- helping destroy limiting beliefs by showing there are other ways to get by
- helping people focus on the higher things in life by fixing the lower
- helping the best way I know how – teaching the things I’ve learned
- I do the thinking so you don’t have to
- learn the best I can so others can benefit
- life has many directions – I am here to make the tools available to make that journey more easily navigable
- making all days clear and pleasant
- making sure people don’t have to wait all their life to figure out the problems in life
- making sure that people realize the sky is not the limit… there is no limit
- making sure that there are plenty of tools for people to grow
- making sure the future is in good hands
- making the map for life’s journey
- making usable chunks and giving to the willing
- moving people up the logical levels
- navigating the maze of life
- planets around and showing the way to them
- proving that life can be as good as you want it to be
- reaching for the stars, and leaving the ladder behind for those who want to follow
- searching for the answers to life’s important problems
- sifting through the clouds to find the way
- sifting through the web to find the real prize
- solving the things people don’t know how to
- some people like to think, some people like to do. I’m the former so you can proper the latter
- teach the kids to learn
- to turn data into useful skills
- turning the mounds of data into useful pearls
- unlimited advancement to propel people into infinite enable-ment
- using my gifts to do God’s will
- working with you for your future
- your future guide to making it through life
