People often think that those who have accumulated a great deal of wealth are successful individuals. But is that really the truth?
That might be true in some cases, but I will say that it is even more important to accumulate money in the right way.
By developing strong character while acquiring that wealth.
Did you know that you can be successful in your daily life without a nickel to your name? Money is actually the gravy of success. It is the real thing’s shadow.
And Now for the Big Money Question
How do you be more successful in daily life without any money?
You start building up your character and challenging yourself every single day to be a better man or woman.
Lets take fitness as an example:
If you did 10 pushups the day before, then to have a successful day, you have to at least do 11 pushups the next day. Being successful does not have as much to do with money as people might think. It has to do with the improvement and enjoyment of life.
What is True Success?
True success is being able to wake up in the morning and say, I can’t wait to start the day! What kind adventure am I going to have today? I can’t even remember the last time I was depressed!
A truly successful life is life that is enjoyed to the fullest extent. Money can be what is being enjoyed, but you can also just sit down and fully be present to the taste of your favorite wine.
How Do You Start Enjoying Your Life?
Don’t get this twisted and start thinking that you should be chasing after hedonistic pleasures that lead nowhere.
I myself kind of fell into that trap at one point, and found that it only dulled what I was feeling and made me more miserable. The best way to start enjoying your life comes from a saying by Theodore Roosevelt:
The best reward life can offer us is working hard at work worth doing.
I have found this saying to be true in every sense of the word. You know why?
Because hard work puts your mind at ease, and if you enjoy the work that you are doing, you will never work a day in your life. All work becomes play when you love doing what you do.
Playful work is what led Thomas Edison to inventing the light bulb after a failure of 10,000 times.
Have you ever put an important task off on the back-burner while you screwed around?
If you are like most people, then you probably have had the unpleasant experience of having that task weigh on the back of your mind the whole time. You would have been better off doing the task right away so that you could get on with enjoying your life. Procrastination is its own punishment.
How to Enrich Your Life Today?
Taking up a new hobby is one of the best ways to enrich your life. For example, maybe you want to get into juggling. Yes, I know and yes, people do still want to learn how to juggle. Curious?
Learning to enjoy the process of learning new things is what will make life interesting and more enjoyable. You never know what you will learn or where you will end up when you embark on a journey like this, and that is what makes life fun.
That juggling hobby that you take up could later be used to get into a career as a professional juggler. For example, you could juggle chainsaws and other miscellaneous objects for money.
Far fetched? Maybe, but it’s better than being on the couch and watching it.
Success Without Money Begins Today
To be more successful in daily life without money, work on enjoying your life more fully. Whatever will make your life experience more enjoyable and fun, do that and continually challenge yourself to be better every day.
If you currently cannot do what you want due to financial constraints, then work on finding a way to make an interest of yours profitable.
And if you’re looking for more ideas, I feel you’ll get some good use out of a book I wrote about finding your passion and purpose through some simple brainstorming tools. The book itself is a testament to the process.
Even if you make only a few cents doing what you love, at least you will be making small amount of money doing it. That is how all fortunes start — from a few cents.

Hi Richard,
I love this quote: “The best reward life can offer us is working hard at work worth doing.” I too have fallen in the trap doing things that felt good but led no where.
The goal for all of us should be to live our joy and enjoy our lives.
Richard N. Stephenson says
We all fall into that trap from time to time. Sometimes we have to fall down to remember to pick ourselves back up again. Thank you for sharing, Justin!

I just love that the statement “Being successful does not have as much to do with money as people might think. It has to do with the improvement and enjoyment of life.”
Thanks very much.
