If you quit before you really try you have already failed. It is much better to try and then fail or win than it is to sit on the sidelines. People have more respect for a person that tries than for a person who sits on the sidelines and criticizes people who fail. Which person do you want to be?
One example of when I have overcome the fear of failure was when I decided to quit my job in hopes of finding a new one. I was very scared that I would not succeed and be jobless but I decided to take the plunge and it worked out better than I could have imagined. Another example of this is when I chose to apply to a college that was a reach school for me. It would have been a let down had I not gotten in, but I applied anyway and ended up going to that school and being very happy with myself.
Failure is something that almost everyone fears. While I’m not immune to failure, I feel that overcoming the actual fear of it is necessary to move on and improve. If you’re afraid of failing, you’ll never try new things. It is also important to note that nobody is perfect, so in my opinion, you should never fear failing. Only those that fail can learn and get better. Those who never try…always fail.
