Enhancing creativity means to allow yourself to be more creative than you were in the past. It means to allow yourself to create something and to understand the meaning of your creation. I think it is also being passionate about creating your creation.
Also, I think one of the most important factors in a career choice is creativity. You first have to know what your good at and what you’re not good at. I think being creative allows you to do so. Work tends to go stale after a certain amount of time if you’re not allowed to let your creativity flow in some fashion – keep that in mind the next time you are looking!
This blog article is a branch out to life-optimizing readers like yourself that were kind enough to do a little question and answer interview survey with me. I’m still working on my interview skills (and some of these were done via email/not-in-person!), but I do promise good, raw, and honest answers from normal people like you and me. I do my best to NOT filter these answers, except for the bad words and hateful speech (which doesn’t happen often).
Topic of Interest: Enhancing Personal Creativity
‘R’ = Richard N. Stephenson (me!)
‘I’ = Interviewee (anonymous by request unless otherwise noted)
R: Give an example of enhancing personal creativity that has inspired you (from either internet/mainstream media examples or personal examples).
I: I am an artist, and am constantly looking for inspiration. I find inspiration by looking on the internet for some of my favorite artist’s works. I also browse around print on demand sites like red bubble to see what others are doing. I also think it’s important to meditate and clear my head–pray for guidance–before I start a painting.
R: How do you think a better understanding of enhancing personal creativity would help other people in their personal or professional life?
I: It would help because problems that are hard to solve can be looked at abstractly or with many different ideas for solving. People could figure out what they are really good at and in turn be successful. It would allow people to open up to different things in the world and hopefully be more accepting to an array of cultures/ideas
R: Give an example of how enhancing personal creativity has helped you professionally or personally.
I: Enhancing personal creativity has helped my mental process when it comes to problem solving. Becoming more creative has allowed me to think outside of my typical analytic problem solving kit and further ponder solutions to problems I have. This has allowed for a much more comprehensive set of answers to many of my day to day problems.
R: Describe at least one way you think enhancing personal creativity could cause trouble or hurt someone in their personal or professional life.
I: If someone uses their creativity to come up with ways to physically or emotionally wound someone, that would be terrible on many levels. In some of my peers’ personal lives, their enhancement in personal creativity has ended up causing conflict. In your professional life, if you overly enhanced your creativity, you could end up taking huge and unnecessary risks.
R: Give an example of how enhancing personal creativity has hurt you or caused you trouble in the past.
I: It can be a distraction. I have lost a job because of mistakes made while I was thinking about something else. I definitely have a one track mind, and if I am thinking about other things, I cannot focus on the task at hand.
R: How do you think enhancing personal creativity could help you in a professional setting? Why is that?
I: Many jobs require a bit of creativity to get ahead. The advertising industry benefits greatly from creativity. It could help you come up with a clever add that could make a company tons of cash.
R: Give an example of how enhancing personal creativity could be useful at work. Why do you think this?
I: It makes a person feel more comfortable and free so it might allow them to come up with better ideas. These ideas could improve the workplace greatly because it allows more people to be involved in the company’s future allowing the management team to handle lighter workloads. I think the lighter workloads for management leads to an easier life for the subordinates.
R: How do you think enhancing personal creativity could help you at home? Why is that?
I: Enhancing personal creativity at home can help you save money. When you think outside of the box, you can come up with alternative uses for old material. For example, if you have a bunch of old tee-shirts, but are creative, you could make yourself a summer quilt. Additionally, enhanced personal creativity can help you think outside of the box to solve problems quickly and cheaply. Need a place for your pots and pans? Have old shower hooks or hangers? If you’re creative, you can probably fashion yourself some pot hooks to use.
R: Give an example of how enhancing personal creativity could be useful at home or in family life. Why do you think this?
I: If you enhance your personal creativity, you could come up with new ways to tell your family you love them (from birthday balloons, to Sunday outings, to re-aligning the magnetic words on your fridge). Personal creativity furthers your ability to keep your familial bonds fresh.
R: How do you think enhancing personal creativity could help you in a personal relationship? Why is that?
I: It would make certain aspects of my life more exciting. Like coming up with ideas for better date nights. Also, it would help me with my guitar playing and piano playing which is always nice to listen to. Overall, enhancing creativity is a good thing.
R: Give an example of how enhancing personal creativity could be useful in a personal relationship. Why do you think this?
I: If you enhance your creativity you will have more to offer in a personal relationship. If you develop a skill that a friend has, you will be able to share that skill and enhance your friendship. Creativity can lead to new topics of discussion.
R: Describe at least one thing you would like to learn more about enhancing personal creativity.
I: i would like to learn how to write and draw better. How to focus time on writing and how to best prioritize ideas and concepts. i would also like to know about different painting styles and how they can be achieved with cost effective supplies
R: Give your number one piece of advice for someone looking to learn more about enhancing personal creativity.
I: Never give up and do things people would never expect! Don’t worry about the people who put you down for any reasons. If you work consistently at what you love, your personal creativity will grow as a result.
