You open the door, you step outside. It’s sunny and beautiful and instantly you’re pounded with rain, a little bit of bird poop, and you step into the biggest pile of mud this side of your block. What is going on? There’s a chance that your car won’t even be able to make it to work today, because you have a flat tire, you’re out of gas, and you need an oil change.
Today is one of those crappy days where you just want everything to be reset. Some days you want happy, and you want it right now! We all do. 1. Go Outside And Enjoy The Weather
This doesn’t matter what you’re doing, where you’re at, or what’s on your current plate. Just stop everything, set it down where you’re at, tell that person on the phone that you’ve got to go, and you’ll call them back in fifteen minutes. Set it down, get out of your cube, and walk on over to that door.
Take a stroll around outside, look up at the clouds and see the beautiful, imaginative creatures and things that you used to dream were up there. See the shapes, hear the birds chirping, and maybe, look down to see how many different colors of green you can see in the grass. Be in wonder, and forget the rest!
2. Call A Friend Or Other Loved One
Call someone. Someone that you know is a great ear, not someone that’s just going to make the problem worse, but someone who’s been there and done that and can just kind of give you that open attention and interest to say, “hey, I feel you, man. I And I really want to understand what’s going on.”
So, pour it out to me for a little bit, but I’ll only give you five minutes. Because if you can’t say it in five minutes, well, it probably just isn’t that important anyway.
3. Remember Who Or What Makes You Smile Or Happy
You may believe that you don’t have a whole bunch of things in your past that have made you smile and be happy in everything that you do. Well, I’m here to tell you that that’s wrong! You have at least one to twenty awesomely wonderful things that have happened to you in your life. This can be something as small as getting your first bike when you were small.
Or, as seemingly insignificant as the first time you found what you believed was a four-leaf clover. Just remember these times and put yourself back in that wonderfully happy moment to re-feel those emotions and get back in that groove.
4. Take A Walk Around The Block
This is if you’re at home or at work, it doesn’t matter! And this isn’t just going outside and looking at nature like we did in number one. This is going out there and physically getting off your butt and putting some steps around the building or house. See some people, wave, say hi. But overall, forget whatever was bugging the heck out of you before. It’s just not worth it!
