Have you ever met someone who seemed just a little bit too smart for their own good? They knew every aspect about food that was bad for them, and that was optimal for their energy. They knew the exact exercise routine that would give them the most efficient return on investment. It just seemed like they knew every little bit about everything. And chances are, it was probably pretty annoying.
Well guess what? Those are the smart people that don’t understand what true happiness is. They’re too down in the details to live life. And it’s a sad thing. I want to help you see from their perspective, so you can catch yourself if you fall into these traps, and maybe help a friend or two, that’s in the same situation. All of this is so you can relax, let life happen a little bit and start being happier.
#1. You Think Too Much, Really.
These kind of people think too much. Every little thing that happens or that someone says has a meaning or a purpose. They really do look into everything that’s going on for the nitty-gritty details on how it fits into their overall picture in life. Sometimes things just happen. I’m not talking about coincidences here but I’m saying, the mental energy you dedicate into every little thing and how it fits into the puzzle, could be better used moving on and doing something different.
#2. You Worry Too Much!
All these little meddling details take up your mental energy and occupy your day, all day long. There’s no way you can totally focus on what’s important at hand if you’re too busy worrying about all the little itty-bitty details that are thrown at you at every given moment.
#3. You Don’t Seek Help.
A lot of times, these people are introverted, and believe they’re completely autonomous. Unfortunately, they would be much better off in life if they could recognize, that yeah, other people might not be able to do what they want done, the exact way they want it done, but that’s OK. It still gets done to some level of acceptability whatever they need to get done or get help with, can be done, it’s just a matter of getting over themselves and going to that step.
#4 You’re Too Uptight!
Nobody cares if you’ve had 1753 calories today. Who gives a flying whoop-dee-do-dah, who cares if you have an app on your phone that tells you that that 1753 calories translates into 14.5 minutes on the treadmill and then 3 reps of 25 pound dumbbells for each arm. That’s just completely ridiculous.
I understand that eating right and exercising and any of these details are important, but once you get down to such a fine resolution you’re completely unfocused in the way you get things done. Paying too much attention to the methods of the madness will lead you to madness. Keep your eyes on the goal at hand, and be happy living life to get there.
Understand True Happiness Soon
Whether you’re the smart person or you know a smart person, you have to understand that happiness is a lot harder for people that know too much, and you can help them or help yourself, by stop thinking too much, stop worrying too much, getting a little bit of help, and stop being so uptight. It’s time to be happy and smart.
