There are rough days and everyone has them. Sometimes it feels like there is nothing that can be done about it. You work with these people, you live with these people, you have these people in your family. They have all of these limiting beliefs that are stuck in their head.
And they play over and over like a broken record. Oh, I guess that reference is no longer useful. How about a corrupted mp3? But they keep saying these negative things inside their head, and they actually believe them.
It stops them from being as successful and productive as they really can be. So it’s time to turn that frown upside down and get more out of life. Let’s destroy the following four hurtful lies that unhappy people actually believe.
#1, That Things Will Never Change
If you were ever born, which secret here…you were! You’ve experienced thousands of changes within the first couple months of your live. “Who are these people talking to you”? “How do I eat this thing”? “When do I need to sleep”? “Should I cry if there’s this thing in my pants that feels wet and yucky”?
Then there was walking, playing, talking, and everything else that’s happened since. Your life is full of change. As a matter of fact, the only ideal that doesn’t change in your life is change itself. You’ve heard that before, but maybe it just didn’t mean as much to you as it does now.
Unhappy people truly do believe that their current situation won’t change; And because of that belief, they actively do things to keep it exactly the way it is. They are subconsciously putting themselves, and keeping themselves, in the box that they don’t like. Notice that and stop it if this is an issue for you or somebody you know.
#2, That Their Job Is Their Be All End All
Some people are especially unhappy because they attach themselves to the work that they do. And the outputs that they achieve. When you attach yourself to the results of everything that you do, your self-worth, motivation, and confidence is tied to whatever happens.
If something bad happens you think it makes you feel bad and that it means your bad. When something good happens it makes you feel good and that your good. While one of those is positive and useful and the other is not, they are both wrong.
You are not your results. You are not the widget that you made. You are not your disease. You are you, and you can always be awesome.
#3, That If They Don’t Have Riches, They Won’t Be Happy
Find any person that has a loving family or a true devotion to God, and you’ll find a happy person; regardless of how much money is in their bank account. Do you really think that there are absolutely no happy people in third world countries?
Do you think that people 1500 years ago were utterly miserable and had no fun at all? Bust that myth. There is no use in thinking that riches will bring any happiness. Riches just make you more of the person you already are. If your happy, there you go.
#4, That There Is No One Out There For Them
Unhappy people can also be some of the loneliest people. They are so engrossed in their own sorrow that there is no room to wallow in life with anyone else.
If a person is completely unhappy in everything that they do, think, and experience; when is there time to invite others in? Opening up your life to the happiness and joy of others is the only way to have someone else out there for you.
Forget The Torture And Think Like A Happy Person!
The horrible lies we just went through don’t have to torture you. You don’t have to be unhappy. There is so much more to get out of life. Know that things will change. Jobs are just jobs and don’t define a person.
Riches just make you more of what you already are. There is always someone out there for you if that is what you are looking for. It’s time to be happy and turn your life around, and help others out there to. Go get ’em partner!
