There are days when it seems like you are being attacked from all angles. Work, out-and-about, home, church, school, neighbors – you name it. It can really begin to wear on you, if you let it get past your defenses, of course.
Do not be afraid. This life is a journey to the next, where you are called to do all the good that you can, for as long as you can.
We are in times not unlike those darker ones from the past. Granted – most people alive today have not experienced anything similar, but the weight of all that is happened can definitely be felt.
It’s like a trip to the grocery store where you filled the basket, stood in the checkout line for 20 minutes, and only when it was your turn realized you forgot your wallet at home. Only now you’ve got less supplies to buy, less money to buy them with, and a bunch of ‘rules’ to ‘comply’ with in order to ‘get’ that ‘opportunity.’
DO NOT LET IT GET TO YOU!
“For behold the day shall come kindled as a furnace: and all the proud, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall set them on fire, saith the Lord of hosts, it shall not leave them root, nor branch.” (Malachias 4:1-3)
Whatever you do, do not violate your morals, your beliefs, your foundation. Your freewill and your faith are the only things this world cannot take from you. Everything else is like chaff in the wind – or whirlwind. You WILL lose it. That does NOT make it right, but that does cement the fact that it is all transitory.
Spend your time taking care of your closest, regardless of the decisions they’ve made. You still love them and deep down they really do still love you. Regardless of what is to come, stay strong in the Lord Jesus Christ, take care of your people, and do NOT fear the thrashing and gnashing of the evils of this world.
You’ve been promised eternal happiness in the next – stay in good graces with Jesus – THAT is your goal.
