Looking to get your entrepreneurial / off-the-corporate-job business in order? This cheap, compact home office and studio setup will take the computing power you already have and turn it into an efficient home command station.
Here’s a quick video where I proceed to bore you to death, and maybe inspire you to make your own home office on the cheap. It really doesn’t take much to get the best of both worlds: a home office and close proximity to those you love most.
It works for me and I’m sure something similar would work for you, too.
Here’s a cost breakdown:
- HP Laser Printer: $90
- Cheapo Wal-Mart Hooks: $8
- Scrap Wood: $1
- Small Wood Screws: $0.60
- Logitech Wireless Keyboard: $25
- Logitech Wireless Mouse: $14
- BenQ 24″ Monitor: $145
- Broken-@rse Chair: $15
- Cheapo Ikea Desk: $45
- Cheapo Wal-Mart Light: $5
- Goodwill Donated Board: $5 ———-
- Total Cost: $353.76
Just use whatever computer you have and don’t include the cost of something new. Oh and the rolly-chair-mat is unnecessary so I didn’t include it, but it’s usually another $15.
