It’s time to stop keeping your awesome ideas inside of your head and heart. Share what’s really on your mind through the wonderful art of writing and let more of YOU show to the rest of the world. There is so much room to grow in this art and so many hungry people ready for the experience.
Take the time to commit to putting more of your thoughts and inner feelings out there for people to explore and enjoy. You don’t have to be some kind of super famous author or anything in order to touch someone’s life in a positive way. If you’ve moved just 1 person, wouldn’t it be worth it all? Even if that person is just you.
In this article, a gracious reader and champion for life-change was kind enough to do a little question and answer interview survey with me. I don’t claim to be the best interviewer in the world, but I do promise some good, raw, and honest answers from normal people like you and me. I do my best to NOT filter these answers, except for the bad words and hateful speech (which of course doesn’t happen often).
With that little blurb out of the way, let’s dive right into the content!
Today’s Topic: Using Writing to Share Your Ideas
‘R’ = Richard N. Stephenson (me!)
‘I’ = Interviewee (anonymous by request unless otherwise noted)
[This interview is inspired and fueled by research done for my book: Quick Content Formula.]
R: Describe what sharing ideas through writing means to you.
I: It means being able to get all your thoughts down. You can express yourself honestly and openly when writing. I find it to be the best way of communicating large ideas or strong emotions.
R: Describe how sharing ideas through writing would be useful to people looking to change their lives/careers.
I: Many people could be inspire by the written word. Anywhere from traveling to finding self help to seeking out Zen. Reading opens worlds of knowledge for others to glean from
R: Give an example of sharing ideas through writing being used that has inspired you (from either internet/mainstream media examples or personal examples).
I: At work we have a website where we can upload ideas on improving our product. Each employee can rate each idea and then we implement the best ones.
R: How do you think a better understanding of sharing ideas through writing would help other people in their personal or professional life?
I: In one’s personal life: It can be helpful to bounce ideas or problems off valued, respected friends or relatives and hear their take on a situation. In one’s professional life: You can gain respect and admiration (and therefore upward movement) if you give useful feedback in situations that come up at work. Also, your innovative ideas/approaches may be highly valued if they are able to be successfully implemented.
R: Give an example of how sharing ideas through writing has helped you professionally or personally.
I: I used to blog about my experiences of living overseas. This helped me deal with culture shock. I took time to write cohesive/comprehensive pieces so that my readers could gain a glimpse into what I was experiencing. I also wrote this way because it was a way for me to grow and progress spiritually.
R: Describe at least one way you think sharing ideas through writing could cause trouble or hurt someone in their personal or professional life.

R: How do you think sharing ideas through writing could help you in a professional setting? Why is that?

R: Give an example of how sharing ideas through writing could be useful at work. Why do you think this?
I: You can pool your thoughts and get a good impression of everyone else’s ideas. You would be able to get the most streamlined thought/idea possible. It would lead to being very productive.
R: How do you think sharing ideas through writing could help you at home? Why is that?
I: Sharing ideas through writing at home and improve home relations. This is because writing is a thought process where as vocal communication can degrade the quality of the message due to distraction or poor thought process in conversation. this is especially true in arguments.
R: Give an example of how sharing ideas through writing could be useful at home or in family life. Why do you think this?
I: Sharing ideas through writing is really useful because it is a form of permanent communication. by this i mean that a message sent through writing can be seen again later as opposed to verbal where messages are lost sometimes.
R: How do you think sharing ideas through writing could help you in a personal relationship? Why is that?
I: Yes, it is important to communicate in any way possible. This includes writing, a type of communication that isn’t usually associated with personal relationships. I believe in order to have a strong relationship one must write notes that allow one to express ideas better than one could through speech.
R: Give an example of how sharing ideas through writing could be useful in a personal relationship. Why do you think this?
I: Writing lets you get your thoughts in order so you say things the way you want. You have time to think and form your sentences well. If you write letters to someone you care about when there’s an important topic to discuss, you can avoid getting carried away and saying things you don’t mean.
R: Describe at least one thing you would like to learn more about sharing ideas through writing.
I: I love theological discussions. i would love to blog or write about my ideas/theories about certain Biblical topics. I want to learn compassion for others who think differently from me.

I: YOu need to write more often. Your writing can get better over time and sharing your ideas on paper is a good habit. The more you write the better you will feel at being able to share your ideas through writing.
