Let’s bang together and blog our way to ultimate happiness and understanding!
In this article, a gracious reader and champion for life-change was kind enough to do a little question and answer interview survey with me. I don’t claim to be the best interviewer in the world, but I do promise some good, raw, and honest answers from normal people like you and me. I do my best to NOT filter these answers, except for the bad words and hateful speech (which of course doesn’t happen often).
With that little blurb out of the way, let’s dive right into the content!
Today’s Topic: Blogging (Round 1)
‘R’ = Richard N. Stephenson (me!)
‘I’ = Interviewee (anonymous by request unless otherwise noted)
[This interview is inspired and fueled by research done for my book: Quick Content Formula.]
R: Describe what blogging means to you.
I: Blogging is a way to express yourself. It’s also a great way to get your brand name across. To me the most important thing about blogging is how personal it can be.
R: Describe how blogging would be useful to people looking to change their lives/careers.
I: Blogging is a form of research. it can help in life changing events to hear some advice or stories from those who have done a certain job or life choice before. one must be cautious as blogs are not always perfectly acurate and contain opinions.
R: Give an example of blogging being used that has inspired you (from either internet/mainstream media examples or personal examples).
I: My partner blogs about feminist issues. In doing so, she has enlightened me to the world of what feminism actually is. She wants equality for all genders, not for one to be better than the other. It has drastically improved my everyday life.
R: How do you think a better understanding of blogging would help other people in their personal or professional life?
I: People with more blogging knowledge have access to a broader range of information. Also, they are able to build a network of contacts with other bloggers, which is great for personal and professional life. Going even further, they are able to promote aspects of their business, or personal interests on their blogs.
R: Give an example of how blogging has helped you professionally or personally.
I: It hasn’t really helped me professionally. It has helped me personally, as when I Google how to do something, blogs help me figure out what to do. I don’t pay attention to many other kinds of blogs, honestly.
R: Describe at least one way you think blogging could cause trouble or hurt someone in their personal or professional life.
I: Sometimes bloggers share far too much personal information. This could hurt them because they might be betraying someone close to them by putting the information out for everyone to see.
R: Give an example of how blogging has hurt you or caused you trouble in the past.
I: My ex found out that I was blogging. He tried to use it in court against me. The judge sided with him in our child custody case because of it.
R: How do you think blogging could help you in a professional setting? Why is that?
I: Blogging is a great way to attract more attention to your business. Whenever that happens people will start talking about you and your blog if they like you. This can add to your business’ bottom line.
R: Give an example of how blogging could be useful at work. Why do you think this?
I: Writing better could be useful because the meaning of the writing would be more understandable and easier to read. There would not be a bunch of words with no meaning but filled with keywords to get Google crawlers’ attention. Writing better would address the readers’s experiences with relevance which would make for clearer prose.
R: How do you think blogging could help you at home? Why is that?
I: Blogging could help at home in many ways. I feel blogging on cooking and cleaning tips can be useful. This is because there are plenty of bloggers that are willing to share tips on daily activities.
R: Give an example of how blogging could be useful at home or in family life. Why do you think this?
I: Blogging could be useful at home or in family life because it provides a relief that can sometimes get accomplished with writing. Also, there are paying blog writing website that pays for content relevant to the home or family life. Writing is a passive way of earning money and of persuading, informing or humoring on the blogging platform.
R: How do you think blogging could help you in a personal relationship? Why is that?
I: Blogging could be an easier way to show your likes and interests. Also, opinions can be easily shown on a blog. Personal relationships are sometimes based on these attributes of people, and having one place to view them might be beneficial.
R: Give an example of how blogging could be useful in a personal relationship. Why do you think this?
I: Blogging can help a personal relationship, especially if you are having a rough patch. for whatever reason people listen to advice from people they have not formed an opinion of yet than those who offer advice in person.
R: Describe at least one thing you would like to learn more about blogging.
I: I would like to learn why people blog. Im not big on the whole online discussion. I much prefer person to person contact when expressing ideas.
R: Give your number one piece of advice for someone looking to learn more about blogging.
I: Understand that once you put something out there for the world to read – you can’t really take it back.
