Companies That Use Strategic Planning Always Beat the Competition

Every company needs a strategic plan – yes even one like this blueprint for the local Burger King.

At the beginning of my online entrepreneurial adventure, I was jumping from tactic to tactic to get more business. This was me finding the shiny new little tools that are coming at me from blogs and from marketer emails and from offers on special internet marketing forums.

You know what I’m talking about. The $7 ebooks, the $27 courses, the $97 video membership sites. These things are all nice and well and good, but at that rate of consumption, all I was doing was getting frustrated.

I was learning a whole bunch of pieces to a bigger puzzle but I wasn’t sure how it all fit together. Well, when you’re interested in upping your success and becoming a company that uses strategic planning instead of bouncing around like I did, you’ll start to pave the way for a successful future and then be able to run it. Here are some tips to get you along that path.

Tactics Are Only Temporary Solutions

So you’ve learned the latest search engine optimization, or SEO tactic, that gets under the Google radar and ranks you number one for your key term. That’s great. What’s your backup plan? You know for a fact that, while Google may not know it or may not have patched it today, sometime within the next year to year and half, it will be done for and they’re getting better every day. Besides, at the end of the day, do you really want to say that your business relies on loopholes to succeed? That’s no way to do it.

Get Company Buy in Before Going Too Far

Now if you’re not just working on your strategic plan for a small business and you’re actually in a corporation or the businesses at the level to where there are a lot of eyes interested in the forward plan, having this strategic plan and methods documented and available for everyone to look at is a wonderful thing. You’ll get company buy in on what’s going on. You’ll get feedback on what’s working and not working and you’ll have a proven plan after enough iterations to make reproducible results.

Get Everyone All On The Same Page

Get your folks on the same page and their hands will magically come together like this.

When you have a plan that’s documented well and made available for everyone who’s interested in the company, then you’ll be able to have everyone on the same page. There’ll be an ultimate level of cooperation and understanding when the “secrets” of the way the business runs aren’t actually secrets and they’re explicitly stated at least at a high level in documentation that’s readily available for every9ne. By sharing this vision, everyone can take part in it. when people take part in it, they have ownership in it. This only leads to success.

Strategy is Vital to Future Success

Companies that use strategic planning are companies that are bound for success. These companies realize that tactics are temporary. They realize that getting company buy in is a proven plan and that getting everyone on the same page is the ultimate path to cooperation.
