When it comes to formulating your resume and conversations with interviewers, there are four key things you can communicate to show that you are highly motivated to take on this new position for a new company.

Way #1: Qualifications To Back It Up

This is one I have run across. I did electrical engineering, and I focused on the low-voltage computer/software. Unfortunately, that pretty much sets aside anything having to do with big motors, power and voltage. That’s a huge sector of the available market.

It’s something you need to keep in mind. If you don’t have experience with something that’s associated with your aims or the job description at hand, it’s going to be pretty tough to get over key parts. If it’s a job that specifically geared around a specific software or hardware product, if you don’t have experience with that, and it’s not an entry level position, good luck.

You’re probably going to get the , “Thanks, but no thanks” And, you can be much more effective in your career hunt, if you aim for things that are either directly below you, right on target or slightly above where you’re at to ensure that you have a good chance.

Way #2: Work Ethic

Prove and communicate that you don’t like sitting around, you don’t like chit-chatting, and you don’t like gossiping every minute of the day. You come to work to work, and you are completely interested in advancement and adding value to the company.

These are a thing that give you motivation, and really checks your boxes when it comes to earning your paycheck. Just something that should seem obvious but isn’t communicated well enough on people’s resumes.

Way #3: Task Completion

You may be the kind of person who loves to see a ton of in work things on your to-do list, or you may be the kind of person who wants to check things off once it’s done. Either way, proving that you’re motivated and have a drive to see things through to completion is huge.

No one wants someone that is interested in just throwing in three, or four, or five months into a project and jumping right out of it and saying, “Oh well, I don’t care.” No one wants to see that. Interviewers and companies want people to prove that they have an invested interest in the work they do and the value that put in the company.

Way #4: Group Work

Can’t get away from it (unless you’re an entrepreneur or a lone wolf)! You have to work with other people, whether that’s vendors, contractors, clients or managers or even other people in your organizations. You have to work as a team proving that you are motivated to learn who the go-to people are.

Learn with other people, and communicate effectively to all ranges of these people. You will have a step up in showing motivation for the position or the company you are going for. Teamwork is essential. There is no way around it, folks.

Motivation, drive, and determination are things that interviewers love to see when it comes to positions that they are seeking candidates for. This is especially useful and impertinent when you are going for a new position, when it’s going out of your expertise or a new company in a new industry.
