Each family has its own way of doing something. Here is a story that compares a rich family to a poor family:
There was a poor family, the Smiths, in the town of Guttenberg, though if you could see them, you wouldn’t think that since they were always so happy. In Guttenberg there was also a very wealthy family, the Levens. Each family had one child, both girls.
The attitude of the girls was very opposite, though. Angie, who had the rich parents, was quite spoiled. Her life was full of maids doing her every wish. Almost all day she played video games, not caring a hoot about what someone thought. When not focused on a screen, she cares only about how she looks. Elliana, who has poor parents, spends her day helping her mom clean the house and reading books. She loves books.
The present day is Sunday. The Smiths are getting ready to get to Church, as are the Leven family. The Smiths are dressed in their nicest clothes. The Levens are not dressed as nicely as they just want to get church over with. Through out church, Angie is glued to her phone pretending to pay attention, her parents are not paying that much attention. The Smiths are giving their full attention to the pastor. Elliana is not on a phone but paying attention just like her parents.
Once church is over, the Levens race out to watch sports and get back onto screen time. The Smiths stay to pray and say ‘hi’ to the pastor. After church, they eat, talk to each other, and spend time together. The Levens also eat but spend no time talking. The Levens are only interested in using their money on things that don’t exactly let them have quality time with each other.
After reading this it is obvious that money can sometimes get in the way. Even if you have a lot of money, you shouldn’t let it get in the way of spending time with family and God.
The Smith’s are not dwelling on the fact that they don’t have a lot of money, but just lived life with what they had. The Levens were focused on their money and not each other. The Levens could’ve used their money instead to go on a nice vacation with each other. Also, they could donate their money to their church. Don’t abuse or misuse the gifts you’ve been given.
Here is a short story that is mainly the opposite of their story.
There is a poor family, the Kens, and a rich family, the Jops. The Jops blame God for them being poor and are always grumpy and annoyed. The Jops are kind to all around them and give money to those in need. At church they pay attention. They are always donating money to their church. The Kens don’t even go to church. They are always lazy at their home.
Even if you’re rich, you can use your money for a good cause. If you’re poor, you shouldn’t blame God, but be fine with the situation you’re in. As you are rich, you should use your money for a good cause, not waste it on stuff that will not even help you.
Hopefully these stories help you realize you shouldn’t abuse or let your financial situation control you.
