Many times in the workplace you will face deadlines. These deadlines can be on projects or simple tasks. Sometimes the deadlines will be hard deadlines imposed by the government (for instance, end of year budgetary issues) or they will be “soft” deadlines that the company itself imposes.
A person needs to be fully aware of all deadlines and time constraints in their job. Missing deadlines can have very serious consequences. It is best to develop a strategy that works best for you. This can be a calendar, on-line program with reminders, etc. Anything to let you know about deadlines coming up and your responsibility regarding the deadline.
I find having a calendar and marking events to be the best for deadlines. I put warnings in my calendar that a deadline is coming up. I also will try to break the project up, and have individual goals. This means setting small deadlines for myself in order to make sure I make the larger deadline imposed on me.
