Products & Services
- Getting started with my new computer… I have switched to Windows 8, which is different from 7, and the internet connection which was needed for setting definitions and downloading programs and apps was down because of a local problem. It all meant that in a very busy week I had to find ways to deal with many unexpected problems and delays… It was both frustrating and challenging, and pushed my creativity :)
- I found out my laptop wasn’t able to be fixed, This was frustrating because we’ve been trying to get it fixed for about 4 months now only to find out it can’t be, My muffler on my car also needs to be fixed, this is only a little bit frustrating because I know I’m getting it fixed in the next few days.
- I had a problem with the internet. I’m far from home and I just wanted to talk to my family and friends but the internet connection wasn’t cooperating.. I felt like throwing away my computer, I was so frustrated! I felt so upset and sad! I couldn’t handle the fact that if I didn’t had the internet I was alone…
- I had to install an air filter in our furnace. It’s always a pain, because the way the furnace’s alcove is structured, you have to reach through a nine-inch gap between some pipes to get to the thin slat where the filter should go. And then the filter needs to be wiggled in and out carefully — sight unseen, because I can’t reach in and watch what I’m doing at the same time — to line it up and make sure it slides in straight. But the filter is cardboard, to too much pressure or too much wiggling will cause it to collapse, making it all but impossible to fit it into the furnace. The task requires more patience than I have to spare.
- I had to talk to my future son-in-law about filing an appeal in city court. He is naive about court matters and was very upset about something that should have been simple. I also could not get the online form to properly complete the form and we needed to file by Thursday.
- I needed to find some new shoes. My feet are wide and tend to be swollen so it is hard to find shoes that fit well and are also easy to get on and off. I have bought shoes online only to find they are not wide enough even though I was sure I picked the right size. This means that I need to go to a brick-and-mortar store and try shoes on which is time consuming and frustrating as sometimes they don’t have any styles I like.
- I recently updated the operating system on my computer. When I tried to upload some pictures, I found that the photo program had not been updated. After about an hour of frustratingly trying to figure out how how to do it with another program, I discovered that all you have to do is update the program.
- I went to government agency waited there 2 hrs and 30 mins for a document. When I am about to go bome I thought I left my claiming receipt for the document. I was so frustrated because I came to the office for that receipt then howcome I forgot it! Urgh!
- I’ve had to drive my car with a clutch that needs fixing because the machanic said it would take a few days for him to fix. I planned to have it fixed next week when I’m on travel for the week and will not need to have access to the car. This is frustrating because I’m worried that I may risk the car breaking down this week.
- Most recent major frustration is really mundane and silly one: why are vacuum cleaners so un-ergonomic ? I hate it how they get stuck behind every obstacle in the room, how the tube knocks over stuff from a low table, etc … why can’t engineers come up with a really easy to use vacuum cleaner ?
- The most frustrating activity I’ve done recently was trying to get a small nerf dart out of a nerf gun. Obviously, the nerf dart was too small for the gun, however the barrel was roughly the same size as the dart, so it was extremely difficult to get the dart out by manually using your fingers. I tried to blow it out, smack it out, and I tried to pry it out with a chop stick. The logical option would be to impale the nose of the dart, puncturing the dart a little but having enough leverage to then pry out the dart. However, I decided not to, running the risk of ruining the dart from future use; the dart requires air pressure to fire, with a punctured nose, it would prove difficult to use the dart efficiently again. After a good 15 minutes, I finally gave in and punctured the dart with the chop stick. Luckily I didn’t ruin the dart, however it still frustrated me that I could not find a better alternative that did not require risk.
- The most frustrating thing I have done in the past few days is try and use a certain version of Windows. It may have been the computer’s software and not the version of word, but man was it annoying! the screen kept freezing and the program was very slow to respond to commands. This caused me to mutter a few not nice words. Patience went out the window. (If you will excuse the pun)
- The most frustrating thing I have had to do the past few days is wait for a verdict. This was frustrating for two reasons: 1) because at this juncture there is nothing I can do to affect the outcome, I can only sit passively and wait and 2) because I disagree with the disjointed schedule created by the Court. I am less productive due to the Court’s poor time management skills.
- The most frustrating thing lately was assembling a patio table. My assumption is that parts I don’t assemble are placed in the right spot. Correct pre-assembly allows me to assemble the rest of the patio in the correct way (i.e. prevent wobbling). And so, I suppose, this means that I expect others to perform the best they can in their roles while I perform the best in mine.
- This morning I had to take the bus to my new student teaching position, and it drove off without me even though I was waving it down. I had to wait for 15 minutes in the cold for the next bus, and when it dropped me off, the next connecting bus was not scheduled to come for half an hour, which would make me late. I decided to just try walking, but quickly realized that this was a foolish decision as the sidewalks were so slippery that I kept almost falling down, and I was a good 30 blocks from my destination. I ended up spending another 10 minutes trying to find the next bus stop for the bus that I had decided was too long to wait for, and was late anyways. I’m not sure that I really need to explain why this was frustrating…I guess I was frustrated with myself for being too impatient to just wait for the bus.
