Major projects are important to the success of the business. They may involve pleasing a client with a multi-step production, or may require a remodeling of the company’s systems and methods. Major projects are important to the employee working on them too, because the work he or she does on them is sure to be noticed.
An employee can improve his or her image at work by finding out exactly what a supervisor wants done on a major project before she starts. That way, the employee will not waste her own or her boss’s time by producing the wrong output. Someone could even seek feedback as she works, to make sure she is on the same page as her boss.
It’s important to shine on a major project because the minor projects do not get noticed. Prioritize the effort you put into various tasks, by learning which items your bosses care most about and concentrating on them. Your superior’s focus on the big jobs, and so should you.
