Internal motivation is being able to “get up and go” on your own will and accord. This can pertain to being motivated on your own without an outside or external “push” to your own personal goals, or to work goals. It is not always easy to tap into ones own internal motivation to get started on a project or something one needs to personally work on in our lives. Internal motivation is a strong and powerful personal skill that needs to be cultivated in order to reach our dreams, overcome roadblocks and become a better person.
If we can tap into our own personal internal motivation we can reach levels in our career quicker. For instance, if you have a big project looming ahead, in showing the initiative on working towards this project by tapping into your own internal motivation to do so will show your boss that you don’t need to be poked and prodded to get work done. You will be given more responsibility and possible promotions because you are known for being able to get the job done on your own time and finish what you start without someone breathing down your neck. Having internal motivation is something an employer looks for in an employee and can certainly help your career.
Internal motivation is a clear, defining and important life skill that we all need to really understand and impliment in our lives. There will not always be someone there to aid you along, help you get things done, pull you up from your bootstraps. That is something you need to learn how to do on your own. Buddah said, “we are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” This is what internal motivation is, and if one has it in droves you can not only motivate yourself to make a difference but make a difference in every life in which your paths cross. That is an incredible and powerful skill that can move mountains and change the world for the better.
