Fitting in at work is a huge thing for many people. Not only do you want to get along with everyone at your work, but you want to be able to go to work and enjoy it. Nobody likes going into work; it’s being able to put that aside and enjoy it with the people around you. To get a long with everyone is a big thing for many people looking for jobs out there. Everybody is willing to work harder if they know they are going to be working in a stress-free environment.
Not only will your life be a whole lot easier and better off by getting along with everyone at work, but it will make your life that much easier getting up in the mornings to go to work. It will improve your overall attitude towards that job and life in general. By having a easy-going and stress-free environment leads to having a less-stressed life at home too with the family.
My advice is to be open. People want to be able to enjoy coming to work and if you could make everyone else’s experience a lot easier, they will make yours too. Don’t be that guy/woman that is negative about everything, be positive. A positive attitude around people make them want to have a better outlook themselves.

Fitting in at Work
- At home when I was sitting down on the couch and relaxing, my mom told me to set the table. I was relaxed, and she wanted me to get up and start doing work, so I didn’t want to get up and start moving. She yelled at me to get up, so eventually I did and set the table.
- At work, supervisors have their “favorite employees”. its hard to move up in the department when you’re busting your butt off at work but aren’t getting noticed by the manager or director because those that aren’t working hard enough but is a supervisors favorite are the ones being praised and being noticed by those in management. its frustrating to know that maybe i’m trying my best for nothing while others are just slacking off at work and are given the opportunity to move up.
- At work, we have a few new starters and they don’t have the right attitude to be working in the office. It is my job to make sure they are getting on with everything and they are confident with what they are doing. The difficult thing was getting them exciting about the job as they couldn’t be bothered to do anything but sit there. I had to pass my enthusiasm on and get them to be happy and willing.
- Being in a dilemma to continue meeting new client to sell them a promise to service them when I am about to leave the job. it is my own principle that I should not promise something that is going to be a null in the future. Although the product I sell might benefit the client and his family. I am still frustrated about it.
- Editing videos. It was frustrating as the subject was not very interesting and they took quite a while to go through and put in order. In addition, I also should have double and triple checked my videos, however, the one I did not double check and submitted was the one that did not appear to have been finished (I believe it had not been saved properly) so it reflected poorly on me. This was my own fault and it bothered me a lot as it made it seem as though I was incapable of putting together a video.
- I get frustrated that my job is office based with not a lot of opportunity to move around. I get frustrated that my role in Hr is not exciting, challenging and world changing. At home, I get frustrated that there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done.
- I had to terminate an employee whom I liked very much personally but was unable to perform to expectation. I had worked with him exhaustively in an effort to better his skill set but after several weeks of training and reinforcement he was unable to demonstrate an aptitude for selling our company services.
- I have had to compensate for a colleague that has a poor work ethic and does more to get out of work, than just doing her job. I was very frustrated because she does very little, but is quick to take credit for anyone else s idea or hard work. It is also frustrating because my immediate supervisor does not see how this employee truly is.
- I have had to deal with the stresses and expectations of homework and other expectations, and that has been difficult because I have been required to work hard in order to “survive” through what I need to do. I find it difficult to maintain the hard work standards that society has set on me.
- I have just returned from a holiday with a bad bout of food poisoning and I needed to get back to the normal pace of things. It was so frustrating because I had no control over what happens and I was forced to rest putting work responsibilities on the back seat.
- I have reblogged entry started a new job at the same company I’ve been at for 16 years. I have been charged with changing the mindset and culture of the place. The most senior employees are the most reluctant to try new things. Be open to fresh approaches and ideas. It is frustrating because I see the potential and possible prosperity of our company and would like to for everyone to get on board.
- I was scheduled a new assignment at work, which is fine. I pretty much switch places with someone, I took his assignment, and he took mine. Well the past few days, I have been doing my new assignment, and doing my old one too. Because he isn’t doing it. It’s frustrating
- I was scheduled for Medical and Physical examanition when I reached the hospital, the nurse told me that my name was not included in the list of applicants for Medical and Physical Exam. It was frustrating because I took the risk and get absent for my work to spend a day for that schedule.
- I work in a retail store, and I occasionally have to deal with incredibly rude customers. I just don’t see the point in being rude to a complete stranger who is only trying to help you. Luckily, I work on a super supportive staff and we always support each other after an especially rude encounter.
- In this day and age it is hard to find a job. There are too many middle men (recruiting agencies) dipping into the same pot. Before, having the right credentials got you the perfect job (BA/MBA). Now, is the size of your network and who you have coffee with on top of your credentials.
- It is frustrating when you put a lot of effort on to something and it doesn’t pay off. I worked very hard in a calculus class and ended up getting a C on the final exam. It was frustrating because I spent hours and hours studying, and I still did poorly.
- Looking up how to live in a different country, with a dual citizen, for longer than a visa allows me; without applying for a work permit. Very frustrating because per specific circumstances, I’d like to talk to someone on the phone about it. The irish Embassy is mostly an automated phone system. They’re only open 3 hours during the work day. Frustrating!
- Make a decision about which of the two classes I should take. Frustrating because I don’t know the outcome (how well I will do, how much work I will have to put in). I need to take one class, but they both seem difficult-I want and expect it to be challenging, but the material and questions are unclear.
- My laptop was mistakenly deleted from the organizational domain and I have not been able to connect to our system for the past three days and its been really frustrating as I don’t have access to any of my files to work on and I keep getting different responses from the IT department.
- Navigate channels to get documentation needed to the proper authorities as a result of my dog biting someone. The documentation could have been easily accessed but was not. The person that needed it was the dog officer who happened to be married to my veteranarian. She looked in the vet’s file before contacting me and reported that the shots were not updated. The shots were done at the town clinic and were on file with the town, who she works for! The person that my dog bit was required to get a series of painful shots that were not necessary.
- Politics at work, being a minority in work ‘gang’, uncertain of future path. Training intern but everyone else is fighting for work with the intern, there is no need for an intern at all as we are pretty overstaffed. Found out that an employee approached the intern privately for the semi-done work so that that employee can proceed from there while the rest of the employees have nothing to do. Maybe I am prejudiced against this employee but this is not the way it should be done. As long as the work is completed, there is no concern for the superior.
- Stay at the office and keep working, even though I was getting sick. It was frustrating because I knew if I could only go home straight away and rest, I would have a good chance of sleeping it off and be fine to go back to work the next day or day after. However, if I could not get rest immediately, I would be sick for the next couple of weeks.
- That it is really important not to behave how others suggest unless that really fits your own ideas, experience and values. A person had made a statement about another group of health professionals which I found disconcerting on many levels. I believe to adopt an attitude based only on another’s perception is foolhardy and it’s really frustrating to see these kinds of attitudes permeate a workplace culture.
- The most frustrating part of my job is not knowing if I’m doing things right. I want to work to my strengths, but I’m not sure what they are. When I do discover a strength, I struggle at first trying to get past all the negativity I was fed growing up.
- The most frustrating thing I have had to do at work is getting Managers to perform who have no desire to be in their job or show no committment to the vision. The reason this is frustrating is because when we have a business to run, I expect all hands on deck, committed to the goal or I would like a way to get that person in the job that fits their talents, strengths and abilities.
- The most frustrating thing I have had to do in the last few days is my psych fieldwork assignments for my OTA program. It is frustrating because my professor does not give clear directions on her expectations for the assignments nor does she explain the format for the information that she wants. When I ask for help, she basically bypasses the question I ask her and gives me information that is irrelevant so I leave even more confused than before.
- The most frustrating thing I’ve had to do is my algebra 2 homework. It’s frustrating because this new concept we learned hasn’t clicked yet and so I don’t really know how to complete the homework. If I don’t know how to do it and I keep getting every problem wrong, there’s no point in doing it at all. Either do it right or not at all because your brain won’t be able to recover if you train it the wrong way first.
- The most frustrating thing that happened recently was when I was feeding at my barn and a million complications came up so it took much longer than usual to finish my job. I knew that I was not completing my job in the most efficient way possible with all that was happening, however I couldn’t find out a way to fix it quickly. Trying to speed up my job made me not be able to make sure that I was doing everything exactly the way it needed to, which in turn brought up more complications.
- The most frustrating thing that I have had to do in the past few days is working with someone who is not passionate about their job and the cause they should be advocating for. An advocate for those who are victims of domestic violence should not look down upon the clients or be hateful to them. It is very frustrating!
- The most frustrating thing that I’ve dealt with is at work, when it comes to learning a new programming language I get stumped and it takes me awhile to find the answer I’m looking for. It is also frustrating when I have to ask others for the answer when I’m not able to find one on my own.
- Trying to see whether my USB works or not. For a split second my computer slid to the ground with the USB side down… so the USB got pushed downwards (very likely to have broken it internally) and then my computer would keep asking to format it instead of showing the data. Really frustrating to get the USB to work.
- Understanding my strengths and weaknesses in order to identify the best suitable role for me in my organisation as we are undergoing a major transformation as a company. This was frustrating as I have not received support from the senior management to give me options which suit my abilities whereas my last two years of work (in me area of expertise) has been highly appreciated.
