I think the topic relates to politeness and professionalism between employees and their boss. Sometimes workers can get discouraged with their boss but it is important to be professional and to not lose your job. People should understand basic respect and not say anything about their boss to anyone in case it gets back to them.
I think people can improve their relationships with their boss by learning patience. Sometimes people are not patient and do not understand a decision their boss has made. People also need to be professional and treat people with respect. Your boss will appreciate this characteristic.
I think patience and professionalism are good ways to deal with your boss. You also do not want to say anything negative about them in case that information gets back to them. You also want to make sure you do not do anything that can endanger your job.

Dealing With Bosses
- 1.Take orders from my boss! This is frustrating namely because I do not like my boss. He is not an honest person and treats me unkindly often. He also asks things of me that I feel are a bit belittling. 2. Rush home each day from work to care for my sister. This is frustrating because she is 14 years old but requires so much time and attention. The more I try to teach her responsibility the less she does. It’s a constant issue in my home. (Which consistes of just she and I)
- At work I had to talk to my boss about something that was running low and I was talked to like I was a child because it was perceived that it was my fault the supply was low when I had the previous days off so wasn’t even at work to know we where running low. This was frustrating because I don’t feel like I go to work to be talked to like i’m a child and that I shouldn’t have to get in trouble for something that clearly isn’t my fault.
- Few days ago I realized that I have a colleague with has the same spot than me in the company earn 40% more than me. I was very disappointed and frustrating because I think that I deserve a better salary than her. My job, my performance, my duties, experiences and responsibility are bigger than her and I also got more time in the company. I feel really sad, conned and dis consider because my bosses always tell me that I was the best employee and I was earning the best salary in the department.
- Handling a skype call from a difficult ex boss, who has been extremely rude to me in the past, in a diplomatic way. This was frustrating as I would prefer to have spoken the truth and told her what I thought instead of being civil towards her, however I don’t want to burn any bridges.
- I am having quite a rough time with a man at work. He is constantly taking behind my back and with me he is just behaving like a hypocrite as if nothing happens. This is really frustrating to me and to make things worse, his boss is always supporting him, no matter what!!
- I ask my boss for a raise after working for her three years, she said no. So I went out looking for a different job. Go the job. Put in my two weeks. Then my boss came up to me saying if I stayed she will give me a raise to ten dollars. Why couldnt she do that before I found a new job.
- I have had to deal with potentially losing my job. I work very hard and am good at the job and with me, customers come first. Recently though, my numbers have been down and i’m being threatened my my higher-ups to get my numbers back up. If I don’t, then I am gone. The thing is, its not my customers that are making my numbers go down, its all the new management changes. Recently my old boss whom I enjoyed quit. She was replaced by someone who was simply asked if they wanted to be manager and said yes, and was just thrown into the job with hardly any to no training. It Is not him I have the problem with seeing as i’m trying to help him the best I can to keep his job, it’s the next boss up. She is abusive with her new position and looks for any reason to get ride of you. Luckily I will be leaving that store soon and looking for another job. I will not be trampled over by a newly novice mid level manger who thinks that just because she can fire good people because their numbers are down for a week or two, she will! Its unprofessional and irresponsible. But once I find a new job life will get better and I will be away from all the chaos. Yes, life will get better soon.
- I have to work in crowded work environment, working with unmotivated people, with no clear SOP, and paid with small salary that doesn’t worth the work I did, and dealing with a boss who doesn’t have a leadership and managerial skills. I have to choose between quit from the job or negotiate bigger salary but keep dealing with the bad work environments.
- I was all ready to leave work at 5.30pm on Friday, I hadn’t had a lot t do that day so I made sure everything possible was completed before It was time to leave. My boss came up to me at 5.30 and asked me to type a file note that had been sitting on his desk all day. I could have easily done it that morning or afternoon but he waited until I was leaving to give me the task. Super frustrating – I ended up being late for a dinner with my friends!
- I was called bossy by one of my best friends at the barn we ride and work at and while we were cleaning stalls I was telling her a simpler way to do the task that she was doing and she said geez you don’t have to be so bossy I was helping her cut her time in half that for the task she was doing
- I was called in to help another division after hours because the regular staff had left to go home. I was unable to access a computer program which I needed because I did not have user access. I placed several calls to the only staff member I had a phone number for, but she did not answer. Her boss calls her and she immediately answered.
- I work as a hostess for a local restaurant. We get busy on occasion and taking charge comes naturally to me. Well, I was out of work for a week or so and when I came back one of the hostess tried bossing me around. I don’t take kind to people, who I feel have no right qualifications to be doing there job in the first place, telling me what to do. I feel like when I manage the front of the house things go smoothly.
- I’ve just started working in a company as a fresh graduate. And my boss wasn’t giving me clear instructions and this is very frustrating. I often wonder what to do when I’m working and my boss is usually very busy and it is really hard to find and talk to him. Because I do not know what is expected from me, I am pretty much aimless and unmotivated in this job.
- I’ve sent a quotation to my client & tried to contact her after 1 days. She din’t pick up my call & reply my email & message & what I normally do is to contact her again after few days or the next week if she still doesn’t reply me. However, my boss wanted me to go look for her in her office & follow up closely about the quotation. It’s make me feel frustrated because I don’t like to be so pushy in doing sales, especially we are in IT software industry and most of the client will take time to evaluate the quotation plus the fact she might be busy to return my call as well.
- My young boss is frustrated and brings that frustration to me, when I talk to him he can not look me streight in the eyes, but looks at the floor or past me and at me only when he disagrees with what I am saying. I like Teamwork and I feel he does not. Even when we were working together at the start he took my opinion a bit too much, later less and now siriusly to little. I am the same guy. He came to work in our firm through some connections and got a chance to advance later becouse of them. He is capable not to dout that, but others around me do not get those chances. I do not blame him for that, everyone uses what he can in life but he should realise he is lucky and others are not. Now even when I try to agreee with him, he is not happy about it, but when I try to dissagre with some good point it is even worse. It seems I can not do anything right for him and I would agree if anyone else I am working with thinks I am wery capable, even all our clients. I can not figure out what should I be doing differently, so I keep doing my work as best as I can as I usualy do.
- Taking direction from my boss – I find it frustrating to take direction from my boss because he gives no clear directions. He expresses his needs in a circular conversation and when you repeat back his needs to determine your solution path he says “that’s not what I want”, but he just said it 5 minutes ago. I find this frustrating because I end up sorting out his thoughts and recommending a solution, he’s the manager, he should be providing the learning and direction
- The frustrating thing I’ve had to do in the past few days at work is come to terms with my boss’ disorganization and tendency to use me as his personal memory bank. It is frustrating because I can’t get anything done. I am a methodical person. At the end of day I don’t have one thing completed. I need to see the purpose in what I do on a daily basis. I need that sense of accomplishment. Otherwise my frustration takes the only outlet available; loss of temper!
- The most frustating thing these past few days it has been to realise that your boss is not as confidence as you thing. I was trying to explain my feeling with her and she was offensive agains me and didn’t allow me to explain myself. At the end, I had to take on that she won’t change her mind and I had to resign myself and accept her opinions although I’m not agree. This was frustating…..I couldn’t defend myself as she is very uncompromising
- The most frustrating i’ve had to do in the last 24 hrs is work at a job I’m not excited about for a boss who isn’t the best either. This is frustrating for me because I believe in myself and my talents and I know I can create a life I love and I deserve to be treated with respect.
- The most frustrating thing I have had to do in the past few days was fix and issue that was not my responsibility. I was on vacation and had to send out several emails to resolve an issue that should never have occurred and one that my boss should have been able to resolve on her own.
- The most fustrating thing happening right now is people keep asking me to help. Everyone I work with is absolutely clueless and can’t think for themselves. I don’t understand why they just don’t ask the boss for a better clearification instead if me. I have a job too. And my co workers keep distracting me which puts me behind and makes me have to work extra hours. It is seriously irratating me.
- The past 2 weeks I had to demontage 23 gears each 32,5 tons heavy. Everyday was the same….unscrew the case, take that out, take this out. 4 days later I know every corner of this gears and it was so frustating to do the same thing over and over and over again. Everyday 10 hours, 7 days a week, 2-3 gears a day, no rest. Each day I had horrible back pain, my feets were swollen and my hands cramped. But I was selected to do this Job in time, so no matter what happens, I will do it in this time and in the end I was 1 day quicker as my boss expected.
