Got another one checked-off the list:
Teach Yourself Visually: Digital Video
by Lonzell Watson
Publisher: Watson (2010)
ISBN-13: 978-0-470-57097-5
Rating: 5.5 / 14.0
Pros: Absolutely awesome images for… every… single… topic. Highly stimulating in that regard. Some surface-level tips of use. Relatively entertaining as the writing style was not terribly dry or institutional.
Cons: …images for… every… single… topic. Why is this bad? Because it took up available space for details, explanations, and useful information. I really didn’t learn as much as I feel I could have from this book if more attention was given to backing up the images. Also, not all images had any real ‘useful’ relevance to the topic at hand.
Assessment: Not worth buying, but worth looking over for the inherent aesthetic enjoyment. Spend the $25 on two others books with more meat & potatoes.
Notes: No notes, but I do have a junky mind-map available, if desired. The main bubble is labeled “WOW images” if that gives you any clues into how useful this mind-map would be hehehe.
